Performers you need to see at least once in your life

Forums:

Let's face it, we all have our favorites that we've see time after time. Some of them have passed on and can't be seen live on stage anymore. Still, there are performers that deliver the goods with genuine rock star personas. Feel free to add the list whenever you want in case some slip your mind the first time around.

Who do you think that any fan of rock and roll has to see at least once in their lifetime?

Here's two that popped up right away

Jane's Addiction

Alice Cooper

Fat Mike

Fat Mike is definitely an interesting choice. Not sure that there are too many NOFX fans here is the zone though.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones

Especially now that there's apparently a wardrobe budget.

Dude's threads are shiny in a good way now.smiley

Roger Waters

Wish I could see Jane's with Eric.

Neil Young (electric)

Neil Young (acoustic)

Bettye LaVette

To expand on Ken's choice I would add Neil Young with Crazy Horse.

Neil with the Horse is tops for me.

I used to say Bob Dylan, he's still close but not quite the same since the mid 2000's.

Most of the 1990's and 2000's were very good.

A tough premise for me, as there are artists/groups that are default shows for me personally, but not necessarily ones I'd say everyone MUST SEE at least once.

Still, here are a few that came to mind immediately that fit the "must see" premise but are also not obvious choices...

Nick Cave, preferably with the Bad Seeds, but any way is good

Dave Alvin

Charles Lloyd (not rock 'n roll, but all-time brilliant)

Hawkwind. Saw Nik Turner's version a few years ago, but Dave Brock is really the Captain, still going strong and putting out great albums. Gotta cross the pond for that one, though.

I'd also like to see Roger McGuinn. Pity they didn't extend that tour with Hillman in 2018, didn't even come close to the PNW.

Van Morrison was the last living person on my list.

GD 1977 remains on the bucket list, but I may have missed tix for those dates ....

Cirque du Soleil

Willie

Buddy Guy
