"Ronnie ‘Hawk’ Hawkins, Rockabilly Singer and Mentor to the Band, Dies at 87"

Heaven just got a little saltier.  87 is an impressive number for a guy who's drinking and whoring were legendary.  God bless you Ronnie.  Say hey to Uncle Bobo, Levon, Richard, and Rick at the Last Waltz in Eternity.  As you once said, Big time!

"Well son, you won't make much money, but you'll get more pussy than Frank Sanatra."

Rest in Peace.

Bob played Washington tonight, don't know yet if he mentioned his passing.

RIP

I heard about this yesterday and had to do a Google check, as I couldn't believe he was still alive.

Except for his bit on The Last Waltz I never saw him or heard his music, but I knew his story & reputation. Getting to 87 gives us other sinners hope.

Or just an excuse to have another drink.

I'll tip one for The Hawk tonight.

On it goes.

I definitely would have lost a round of Dead or Alive on this one.

I had the good fortune to see Ronnie 'The Hawk' Hawkins lead The Band through a performance of 'Who Do You Love?' at Bill Clinton's 'Absolutely Unofficial Blue Jeans Ball' for his Inauguration in DC! That was MAGIC!!!

Rest In Peace, Ronnie! Thank You!!!

(And remember, No 'Hawk' = No 'Hawks" = No 'The Band'!!!)
