Bat Out Of Hell was a little too over the top for my tastes, but the guy sure milked a career out of it. As a large person, he outlived my expectations.
Meat Loaf was not officially registered with any political party. He performed at the 1997 pre-inauguration ball for re-elected Democratic President Bill Clinton[127] and attended the 2001 inauguration of Republican President George W. Bush.[128] He donated to the presidential campaigns of Republican candidates Rick Santorum and John McCain, the latter of whom became the party's candidate in 2008's election.[129]
On October 25, 2012, Meat Loaf endorsed Mitt Romney for president, citing poor relations with Russia as a major reason he had been "arguing for Mitt Romney for a year".[130] He said, "I have never been in any political agenda in my life, but I think that in 2012 this is the most important election in the history of the United States." He then said there are "storm clouds" over the United States and "thunder storms" over Europe: "There are hail storms – and I mean major hail storms! – in the Middle East. There are storms brewing through China, through Asia, through everywhere."[130] The same day, he performed "America the Beautiful" standing next to Romney.[131][132]
In a 2017 interview with Billboard, he said positive things about Donald Trump, Ivanka and Donald Jr. (they had worked together on The Celebrity Apprentice in 2011).[133]
I wasn't aware of his co-creator Jim Steinman who wrote Bat Out of Hell until today. Theatrical collaboration that led to the operatic rock of Meatloaf. Fly on......
This music that you play for us comes from the depths of hell
Rock and roll's The Devil's work, he wants you to rebel
You'll become a mindless puppet, Beelzebub will pull the strings
Your heart will lose direction and chaos it will bring
Back in the late 70's and early 80's there was this movie theater (forget the name) on Dixwell Ave in Hamden, close to New Haven, that showed midnite movies on Fri + Sat nights. It was a highhead's paradise. Hendrix, Dead, Zeppelin, Stones and of course the RHPS. That's the best way to see Rocky Horror,, on the big screen with a room full of like minded highhead nutjobs armed with all the props. Try to experience it that way if you can, on dvd in your living room just don't cut it. Sooooooooo much fun.
