Been doing a bunch of outdoor shows recently. No problems.
A bit Hesitant to make the move to small ( often crowded) indoor venues as we transition to post pandemic life.
what's the feeling around here, If venue requires Vax are most folks here vax'd and relaxed to GTT(indoor)S?

I went to my first indoor
I went to my first indoor show last week - Wilco at the Schnitz.. Thankfully it wasn't crowded and had an entire section in the upper balconies to myself. According to the paper, 25% of the ticket holders were no shows.
Going to Phish at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene next week and plan on staying up in the rafters there too. If I need too, might find space way up in the nosebleeds behind the stage. Don't have any desire to go onto the floor and the band's light show is often best when watched from afar.

Thanks for the feedback Ken...I'm kind of where you are, indoors with some space vs jammed in on a GA floor could be the way to ease back in.

Completed my vaccinations
Completed my vaccinations last spring. Two weeks ago I attended a work mandated training and the trainer, new aged piece of shit, turned out to be positive. A few days later I got sick, like very sick. Ironic thing was that I was late because I stopped to get a mask so I had to sit right in front. Really bad cough, headache, body aches, and all stuffed up. A few days later no taste no smell, nothing at all. Today is my last day of quarantine. I would say tread lightly.

Alternative medicine'd.
We have been doing about 50/50 indoor/outdoor shows. People got creative. However, with the autumn and winter moving in (even after this freakishly mild fall weather), we have more than a few indoor shows in the offing. We're gonna be picky about attendance if stuff gets dicey, but as far as I'm concerned it is ALL SYSTEMS GO. Been way too long without live music, live arts. It's time to get freaky.

I saw Cubensis at an indoor
I saw Cubensis at an indoor place in San Luis Obispo a couple of months ago. The place had a high-ceiling, was very well-ventilated, and left the doors at the entrance open all night. I'm fully-vaccinated and felt safe going to that show, and that calculation seems to have paid off. That said, I sold my tickets to see Billy Strings at a small place in LA last month. I guess what I'm trying to say here is I think safety needs to be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Been in the cinema more often
Been in the cinema more often than I have been in years, as well, OP. Watched 'Tenet' opening week (trash; waste of time), caught a matinee of the new Bond film (thrilling, awesome true-blue big screen spectacle experience), and have tickets for the opening nite of 'Dune' (cannot wait), loving the feeling of walking into a dark room with a huge screen and engaging in a couple hours of escapism that occasionally transcends. Forgot how much I loved it, esp. with so many streaming platforms vying for attention. Even the Ryan Reynolds vehicle 'Free Guy', a throwaway comedy action blockbuster, was totally worth it. Nothing like the real thing, though that's going to be tougher to fully reactualize when the real thing is a sweaty, packed music club.

I debated for weeks if I
I debated for weeks if I would go to Orlando to see Primus play Rush's Fairwell To The Kings album. I said fuck it, I had the shit 2x and vaccinated 2 times, I had these tickets for almost 2 years.
I donned my Sunday finest, including my mink stole, and went to the Delta capital of the world (June 30). I always wear a mask anywhere I go so I doubled up on em this evening.
I milled around outside till I heard the first notes of Blue Collar Tweeker, found a lil cool corner in the back and freaked for a while, till the last notes of Jerry Was A Race Car Driver I dipped out into the warm summer fresh outdoor air like I was never there.
I also think that large amount of acid helps keep it away too.
Yes it fuckin rocked, Primus Suxs

My first indoor shows will be
My first indoor shows will be Phish at the Chase Center, which is requiring proof of vax to enter and has a state of the art air filtration system. I also managed to get first row seats on the aisle for both nights (so not completely surrounded) and I plan to wear a KN95 level mask at all times. Still not totally comfortable with being indoors with large groups, and I don't plan to go to smaller GA club type settings (with no vax requirements or decent ventilation) for some time.

Vax'd and definitely not
Vax'd and definitely not relaxed, nor is it "all systems go" -- for me, anyhow.
I have health issues that lead me to believe I'm an easy target to get knocked down, so there's that ... but It's just not worth it to me to take the chance with numbers as high as they still remain; even with being "selective" about shows and space therein.

TAB @ the Met,

The Q
masked up at all the shows,
@ the Met I had 1st row in the Mezz so a lot of free space in front of me and there were empty seats around, learned to bring a 2nd set mask as the one that night was soaked with perspiration
On the floor at the Wellmont to start, then went up to the Mezz, that show seemed crowded, but they had the air blowing full blast all night. My son (he's vaxed) went with me and tested negative Wednesday (surgery Monday)
I was right of the soundboard @ the Cap and it felt much more comfortable than the floor of the Wellmont,
Skipped half-time activities at the Wellmont and Cap.
Billy, YMSB, Cabinet next month...

Appreciate all the feedback.
Appreciate all the feedback. Was feeling a little Covid crazy but seems folks are using similar logic and risk reward analysis in deciding whether to GTT(i)S...
As a small venue junkie - still some great outdoor shows popping up around sf bay as outgrowth from TXR incubator but expecting cold and rain will drive things indoors soon.

WG - I would get tested too
WG - I would get tested too after two nights at the Cap unmasked!
Between the Cap, Beacon and RCMH I’ve done 10 indoor shows over the last month,
all fully masked. I generally feel pretty safe about going masked and am healthy so far.
I use a cloth mask with KN95 liner, and it’s a good idea to bring some kind of back up.
Got 12 more shows coming up in the next three weeks, so I go masked to stay healthy
and not get shut out of shows!
Good idea to do a few shots of bourbon too especially if getting all chatty at set breaks.
Most folks are kind and understanding about wearing a mask but it’s not horribly
risky to flash your friends a real smile or two once and a while!
So if you are in good health go masked to indoor shows and don’t miss out on this rocking Rocktober!!!!

Thank you Willytee for
Thank you Willytee for letting us know you have been to numerous indoor shows and have come out fine! I really appreciated the masked hug at the end of the run from you!!
I was totally freaking out on Monday when the Cap staff didn't check my vaccination card and there were so few people masked. I hid at the mezzanine bar masked in my N95 watching all the monitors the first night. Terrible sound, felt disconnected from the show but it was nice just being there feeling the energy of the historic building and elated crowd.
Second night, still masked, I stood at the balcony stairs since they had the doors open to bring in the fresh air. While better sound and I could actually see the boys it wasn't the optimal scenario but better than the first night.
Third night, still masked, I gathered my strength and courage and went down to the floor before the show started. I found a spot against the railing to the left of the soundboard that wasn't too crowded and the railing made it impossible for people to come from behind. The sound was sublime, I could see the boys play and even thought I was a bit scared during the first set by the second set my spirits were lifted by the music and I had found my peace. Thank you Phil!!!!
Needless to say the second set of the third night made me bawl like a baby and give my utmost love and gratitude to Phil and the band for still kicking some serious ass at this point in the game of life.
I feel so much more balanced and alive having conquered my first post covid event fears in the midst of the great Q. Having numerous zoners phil me up with love and hugs really soothed my soul. Thank you beautiful people!!!!!!!
I have 2 covid home tests and will be taking one tonight before I head to NoVa to spend 2 days with Dad. Will take the other on Monday before getting in the car to travel back to Florida with Mom for the funeral. Please send me some good vibes people. Would suck to have been so careful during all this crap and to have the only thing that gave me some pleasure and love get me infected. I'm sure I would be fine but worry for my parents and all the family coming together for the funeral service. Will keep you posted of the results.
GTTS!!! GTTS!!!! GTTS!!!!!
Please be careful, grateful and if you choose to not wear your mask please be kind to those that do. We are all struggling in our own ways to overcome what the pandemic has done mentally to all of us.
I love you all to infinity
Gratefully,
Merri

Being more relaxed and
Being more relaxed and feeling confident about not getting Covid is a good thing.
However, I was disappointed to see the health providers at Sutter Health also getting too relaxed and not following Covid protocols when I was there last week to get some routine blood work done.
Masks below the nose and place wasn't as clean, not doing temperature checks at entry and asking patients to put on fresh mask, etc. Not checking proof of vaccine or negative Covid test for entry to the medical center.
So, I'm getting tested today after dealing with some Covid symptoms over the weekend.
I'll be fine, but after hearing about so many breakthough cases, I want to be certain that I'm not going to spread it.
And yeah, as we all become more relaxed it's likely that we'll be getting more stomach bugs, colds, flu, etc. Just impossible to know what's going on without testing.Good news is that the testing is free and I'll continue to go get tested whenever symptoms arise. Hope everyone does the same.

I'm in and out of medical
I'm in and out of medical facilities and they're no longer taking temps; it turned out that it didn't really tell them anything about people have the virus, just if they had an elevated temp right then so they've stopped taking them.
I've never seen most of the things you listed, Nancy. The State has a mandate for masks and we've always been required to wear them in medical facilities, but not fresh ones. I've never seen anyone being checked for proof of vaccine or negative test.
>>> Masks below the nose and place wasn't as clean, not doing temperature checks at entry and asking patients to put on fresh mask, etc. Not checking proof of vaccine or negative Covid test for entry to the medical center. <<< We don't share those protocols, even at the Cancer Institute or the hospital the last time I was there.
It's interesting how different it is here. We had bad spikes in infection but those have dropped except around the University of Oregon where students and staff are required to be vaccinated. I don't know about other employees.

Yeah, we're spoiled here. Up
Yeah, we're spoiled here. Up until last week, very strict protocols at the medical centers here, which make sense to continue indefinitely, imo.
Vulnerable and sick (possibly contagious) patients all entering a medical deserve the best. I understand the temperature check wasn't perfect but it can't hurt and other protocols will prevent disease transmission in these setting, it's not just about the spread of Covid, just basic protocols that should remain, and be standard for the health care industry.
I was grateful for the drive thru Covid test at a different medical center location where all precautions were will still in place. And grateful for a negative test result
