Wynonie (August 24, 1915– June 14, 1969) was an American blues shouter and rhythm-and-blues singer of upbeat songs, featuring humorous, often ribald lyrics. He had fifteen Top 10 hits between 1946 and 1952. Harris is attributed by many music scholars to be one of the founding fathers of rock and roll. His Good Rocking Tonight is especially mentioned at least as a precursor to rock and roll.
His dirty blues repertoire included "Lolly Pop Mama" (1948), "I Like My Baby's Pudding" (1950), "Sittin on It All the Time" (1950), "Keep On Churnin' (Till the Butter Comes)" (1952), and "Wasn't That Good" (1953).
Today is the 84th birthday of Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal, who won 243 games during his career, mostly with the Giants.
Five memorable things
1) He was nicknamed the ‘Dominican Dandy’ and was an idol for Dominican ballplayers, including Pedro Martinez.
2) On July 2, 1963, he and Warren Spahn pitched 15 innings of shutout ball, with the Giants winning in the 16th on a Willie Mays home run, still considered one of the greatest pitching duels in MLB history.
3) He was a 10-time All Star with 5 pitches, all delivered with a distinctive high leg kick.
4) His career was nearly ruined by a violent confrontation he had with Dodger catcher John Roseboro, in which he attacked him with a bat. Amazingly, Marichal would play his final season with the Dodgers and he and Roseboro became good friends.
5) Marichal played one season with the Red Sox in 1974.
Twain was born on November 30, 1835—two weeks after the perihelion of Halley’s Comet. “I came in with Halley’s Comet,” Mark Twain commented in 1909. “It is coming again next year. The Almighty has said, no doubt, ‘Now there are these two unaccountable freaks; they came in together, they must go out together.’” He died on April 21, 1910—one day after the comet had once again reached its perihelion.

I sensed you there and everywhere
Until I saw you standing there
I am the greatest fan of you
And love is all I've got to do
It's all too much my little child
If you will be my honey pie
Eight days a week you will be mine
And getting better all the time
I'm begging you don't pass me by
And if you do please tell me why
I know you told me yesterday
You've got to hide your love away
But if your honey is bad to me
It told me "love and let it be"
