from Downtown Deb herself on FB;
"Dead Air peeps, Tuesday during the Dead & Company show set break, I have been invited to be interviewed by David Gans and Gary Lambert. They’ve been talking with lots of different people, musicians and such, and Sept. 7 it’s my turn. The break is usually around 8:30 PM (since the show is on the east coast), and around 5:30 PM on the west coast. The band will be at Cuyahoga Falls, OH."

Let the Good Times Roll

Let 'em roll, indeed. Thanks for lighting the torch, Noodler!

Someone want to let nugs know that LTGTR doesn't really count as a "song" lol

Always a pleasure Ateix!  Thanks for covering while I was visiting the Grandniece for the first time last weekend (such a little cutie)

@Moody I agree totally. LTGTR is a preface to a real song!

And Mickey can't you at least look presentable and comb your hair after just waking up for the fans!?

I love LTGTRoll when doing these threads...  allows me to take screen shots, dumb them down on FB while sharing to those threads, then the time consuming reality of posting here, w/o missing anything...

(But i'm a Dark Star / Space / Slipknot / Cassidy / Bird Song / Other One, etc, kind of guy)

Long live modal playing!!!

Cassidy

Sumatra, do you like hair combed straight back or to a side?

This sounds like a nice long modal and jazzy intro to Bird Song..

Is this a long segue from out of Cassidy? I don't think there was any coda, just high adventure and some filthy long jammin.

 a Dark Star / Space / Slipknot / Cassidy / Bird Song / Other One, etc, <<<<

Nice Noodler.

I use to tease about the tempos every tour before this, some of you may remember me rewriting the lyrics to Cumberland Blues (I can't play much slower Malinda, the tempo's going to die")

But tour i'm cool with it.  Also, enjoying Mayer's slightly cleaner / more reverby tone(s).  Really love how he's melding with the music this tour (vs ripping blues licks over the music)...  likewise with Oteil, breaking away from those traditional bass lines for more modal intervals / speedy arpeggios, etc....  Jeff's been doing his lounge thing at times, but that works for me.

Yes, this tour it's really coming together, for my ears anyway...   some really great spaces!

I didn't hear the peak in Cassidy but I was in the other room cutting the sleeves off a small Led Zeppelin shirt.

Set 2 sneak peek

Thumpity thunmp

What a spectacle. Thanks for the sunset snaps, Noodler (as well as for how you comport yourself on the board, at all times, really), what a swell guy!!

Spacy jams!

Back at ya Ateix, much respect, and a special thanks for all that great jazz you've shared over the years, so much quintessential music!

Nooo doubt! Always seeking to share. Cheers, man!

Were gonna get some of that Joe Walsh tone out of Bob on this Moon yet, no doubt.

I do hear him reaching for that slide. Fo' sho.

Getting reports of lots of lightning flashes at the show, here's the radar

0200z copy.jpg

It might be the Waddy Wachtel slide leftover from Werewolves.

Didn't he get his slide playing from Lowell George when he was producing Shakedown Street?  (which some never forgave him for, LOL)

I need a miracle w/ Lowell George

Delicious sammie

Glad that Weir put the slide away before someone got struck by that lightning!

I'm hoping for a rare thunderstorm here in the NW tonight...  so maybe I should play some slide!

(but I play beer bottle slide, good at over hand, suck at underhand slide...  better front factor anyway, lol)

Much obliged for your hospitality, Noodler. Cool video, to boot.

Thanks for the link to Deb's interview, Noodler. Deb's an old friend, who introduced me to Greg, whom she'd known since the China Camp days. I'll listen to it later.

I'd never heard a lot of those stories before, excellently told too!

It was fun to listen - she's had some good times!

Charles Ramsey, the man who rescued three women held captive for over a decade by Ariel Castro was at this show for his birthday celebration. Saw it on his fb wall.
