Get down this weekend, Ateix! yes yes

Hell yeah, were gonna go up to the freaky foothills of real Lovecraft Country tomorrow, I wish Dire Wolves were coming in but we'll hear some good stuff. Laraaji and Co., plus Angel Bat Dawid, lots more.

For now just grateful to share in the stream, thanks for keeping it real. You get down too, man!

Was the Bertha  a really slow tempo?

Two shows now with no OB vocal. Just saying, wtf?

Never listened to any Dead & Co. until a couple days ago. Listened/watched the youtube teasers from a couple nights ago and last night caught the second set stream provided by the wolfman in the second post listed above.  I have to say I was impressed. Have Dead & Co. always sounded like this or are they coming into their own on this so called post pandemic tour?

Bobs voice sounds the best I've heard in a couple decades.  Not much shatnerization at all, he is singing again for the most part. I caught a Wolf Bros. stream from a month or two ago and felt the same thing about Bob's voice. Seems a huge improvement to me. Bob's voice has been a buzz kill for me for at least the last 10 to 15 years. Don't remember it being a problem in The Dead tours of 2003 and 2004, but by the Furthur years the shatnerization was a huge turn off for me.  Did a few Furthurs as they could go places, but haven't tuned into much Bobby stuff since.

The idea of Weir being center stage and leading Dead & Co and doing most of the vocals was why I hadn't even thought of giving Dead & Co a chance.  Then I would see all these comment about the slow tempo and i just never gave a thought to listening to any of it. Well if they keep sounding like the last couple nights, I'm back on the bus. Was Mayer always this in tune with the music?  He has more than learned the licks, he believes what he is playing.  Can't fake that stuff.  The interplay between keys, lead and rhythm guitar is awesome to watch. Consider me converted.

In ways I thought they were better in 2018 or so but lately (this tour) they seem much more rehearsed/polished and somewhat predictable yet can pull out some really good however brief jams and transitions. It still sorta feels like a spoonfeeding endeavor for the young'ens, IMO. I am still not a fan of Mayer in this band but it is what it is and the shows look packed. Carry On.
