Great band. They did a lot of drugs btw. Never saw them with Lowell but saw them a bunch, opening for the GD at Oxford Plains in 88 was good stuff.

Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett are out playing together: http://www.paulandfred.net/documents/35.html

Lowell George also produced Shakedown Street

He did. I recall there's a studio "good lovin" with Lowell on vocals. It rages.

Waiting for Columbus is required listening

Little Feat? Required listening?

This: Orpheum Boston 1975.

The concerts that were used for Waiting for Columbus are celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year.

Richie Hayward (RIP) was a monster of a drummer.

Waiting for Columbus is such a great live album!

Little Feat Ultrasonic Studios 74 ( I think) is killer.

The greatness of these guys has been whittled down to one album with a few songs.

Has Warren sat in with little feet?

^Just when you thought Warren hadn't play with every damn band in the world.

at least they didn't play soulshine

Gov't Mule and John Scofield, "Spanish Moon," Boston, MA March 12, 2015

Check it out.

I think I have Columbus cued up for tomorrow night ....been a while

Oh...Atlanta

Besides Europe '72, Live Dead, Eat A Peach, Physical Graffitti, The Wall, Talking Heads '77,
Waiting for Columbus was an absolute cornerstone of my youth and days in College in the mid-80s.

CRANKED out Dorm Windows at Soccer, Lacrosse and Rugby Games over the quad and generally always spun at least once a tour while driving....

Kenny Gradney played bass with Bobby's  Midnites '83-'84

Im pretty sure you missed the GD too Hall.  Not trying to be snarky but what were you listening to as a youngin?

been listening to Waiting for Columbus today... have of course heard that dixie chikin song before and while I find some of it really interesting (mostly Lowell George's vocals and some of the rhythms and jams), the southern fried thing starts to kind of bore me after a while (same for me with Mule/Warren).

It will def get some play from time to time, so thanks for starting the thread!

Little Feat was good, nothing close to Lynyrd Skynyrd though, start with Pronounced then Second Helping...

HALL, if you like the Lowell George stuff, check out his solo album, Thanks I'll Eat Here. Its as eclectic as any Jerry solo studio release.
