lol organic is still better for the soil than conventional, but it's obviously not healthy to smoke anything. I liked spirits because they were very strong.
I've found if I can ignore it for ten minutes a nicotine craving goes away, but it's seriously annoying to fend off cravings daily when I haven't been a smoker for almost a year.
Congratulations, Dise. Hopefully soon you'll lose the cravings.
I smoked over a pack a day for over 30 years. As time went on I got really fucking sick of it, progressively so. One day I was done.I did the patch for 2 weeks and called it quits. That was over 7 years ago and I haven't had one craving. Once you get past the physical addiction, that's all psychological. That's the harder one to break. I did it just like I did when I kicked dope. I simply convinced myself that I'm not nor will ever be a smoker.
American Spirits weren't strong enough for me, even the blacks. Plus, they take too fucking long to smoke. I was an Old Gold man. They were good enough for Kerouac and good enough for me.
Thanks Hall! My doctor wasn't so encouraging. I told her I'd passed the six-month goal and she replied "Most people who quit start again within two years". Well fuck you too, lady.
Congrats Dise. Hang in there. For me the dreams lasted yrs. Now cig smoke gags me. I can't handle being around it.
Thanks Mark!
Now that you've mentioned it, I've never had I dream that I can remember where I was drinking or smoking. But I've had several recurring Grateful Dead dreams where I was definitely tripping on acid in the dream.
I do not crave it anymore, the smell is pretty sick too. I still to this day after a service call i sometimes reach for my pack where I would keep them in my van.
Surfy, same here. In my dreams I drop and then go into the venue, after some trippy mishaps the music starts and I wake up. It kind of pisses me off when I'm just waking up that I was so close to a free show.
I remember a recording of one of Bill Hicks' stand-up performances in England near the end of his life. He told the crowd he had recently quit smoking, which had been a big part of his routines for years. They hissed at him.
My sister quit smoking 35 years ago. She told me that whenever the urge came on she would stop whatever she was doing and go walking until the cravings subsided. She said she went on some really long walks at first, but they kept getting shorter. She's never smoked since.

Good work, Dise. It's a hell of an achievement.
I smoked for 32 years, quit 29+ years ago. I never smoked tobacco again because I never wanted to have to quit again.
