Happy fucking 80th Bob Dylan!!!!

Photo above of Charlie, Bob and Larry by Ken Regan, sound check, Telluride, Colorado, Aug, 2001.
Thanks for posting Atom. Brings back huge memories!

I went to those 2 shows in Telluride, as well as the night before in Vail at the Gerald Ford Amphitheater.

My friend ran into Larry and Charlie at the hotel in Telluride and gave something nice before the second night,

that certainly didn't hurt the music....

Weir is playing that Vail amphitheater next month with Wolf Bros; He's never been, I described to him what a great little venue it is.

He's psyched.

Can't wait for Dylan to be back out on the road!

My one song tribute to Bob Dylan today. Once upon a time...

Such a great writer.  BIABH through BoB and BOTT are pretty unsurpassed.  "Positively Fourth Street" always in my meaningless top ten list.

Happy birthday, Bob.

Time out of mind through rough n rowdy is unsurpassed

Here's a rare one for ya...watch it before it's gone

Thanks for posting that vid, Fish.

I captured it before it was taken down.

HDB man!

This is for Shakey Zimmerman in case he doesn't know about it.

No problem lcl, that really was a great birthday gift for us!

No kidding Fish. I could have sworn that whole show was out there but I guess not.

Maybe some day.....

Happy Birthday to The Man!! Zim played all day in our house yesterday. So glad we saw him live as many times as we did. Beginning in the early 80s to a couple years ago in a grassy field in Norther Vermont!  So many memories. From nice little venues to that long, 3-set night in Giants Stadium in 1987 on my birthday stick with me!

     Happy Birthday!

That Phil Tour with Bob was fun!  :)

     Love Minus Zero No Limit

C

My love, she speaks like silence,

G  F                              C

    Without ideals or violence,

G  F

    doesn't have to say she's

        C

faithful,

          Dm                       G

Yet she's true, like ice, like fire.

People carry roses,

G  F                            C

    make promises by the hour.

G  F

My love she. laughs like the

      C

flowers

Dm                    G  C

Valentines can't buy her.

In dime stores and bus stations,

People talk of situations,

Read books, repeat quotations,

Draw conclusions on the wall.

Some speak of the future,

My love, she speaks softly.

She knows there's no success like

failure

And that failure's no success at all.

The cloak and dagger dangles,

Madams light the candles.

In ceremonies of the horsemen

Even the pawn must hold a grudge.

Statues made of matchsticks

Crumble into one another.

My love winks, she does not bother.

She knows too much to argue or to

judge.

The bridge at midnight trembles,

The country doctor rambles,

Bankers' nieces seek perfection,

Expecting all the gifts that wise

men bring.

The wind howls like a hammer,

The night blows cold and rainy.

My love, she's like some raven

At my window with a broken wing

I remember going on Dylan tour to blow off steam after Bush scammed Kerry...
https://www.thomhartmann.com/blog/2005/06/what-went-wrong-ohio-conyers-r...

I still have a bunch of Kerry momentous, because I was with ACT which was a 501C-3, I was given an invitation to see Bruce in Philadelphia which was certainly interesting...it was a bit of a sociological phenomena in that it reminded me of Grateful Dead tour in some regard.  I remember drinking beers at tailgates with kegs, it was a pretty cool scene.

Later on when everyone raised their fist at the exact same time during Born to Run I realized I was the new guy on the block, although it was pretty amazing!!!!!

It was interesting being on Dylan Tour, it was cool to see Bob every evening driving around America...I'm pretty sure I've seen Dylan more than anyone posting here regardless of age.

He was the poet laureate of a generation.

Seeing Dylan for several nights in a row renewed my faith in America.

Unconditionally, eh?

     Yes, unconditionally.

Also...the boats are outstanding, I miss fishing, but I don't eat fish anymore so I feel weird about catching them.  I understand Melvin loves to go fishing.

WFUV's weekend shows did a great job toasting Dylan's 80th.  A shit-ton of great tracks, including various covers and tributes.

I enjoyed this:
