2/3/22- 2/6/22

Leaves Key West 10pm Thursday and returns 12 Noon on Sunday

Fishing 120-220 feet

40- 100 west of Key West by the Fort Tortugas

I'm booking my spot on the port side pulpit and I have 7 other commitments.

Hardcore fishing at its finest expect, grouper, snappers, mackerel, wahoo and tuna is the mainstay on this trip. It doesn't require electric or deep drop equipment..

Any one intrested?? Let's go!

My son flew in from Denver and we met up at my daughter and future son in laws place. We went out Friday and Saturday and hit some areas around Ft. Myers, my son landed a nice snook, mine broke the line and I missed him, also got a bunch of trout. Cannot keep any snook, trout or Red Fish down here in this region. We also talked about doing an annual Key West Trip with the boats to Islemarada that my son will fly in for. Talk of the destination wedding in Jamaica in January and a charter will also be part of the ceremonies

Your trip T, could fill the freezer

Nice my daughter was the photographer.  She is kinda sideways so I left it...plus it takes like 5 minutes to load a picture here

no I didn't build this one. I strip built 2 canoes a while ago but these plank built guideboats are a lot more complicated. This one was built by a good friend tho

My other yacht is a rowboat (too)

Lake Charleston, Ontario, about July 2016. Her first big catch, landed on shore using 1/8 oz. jig head and mister twister rubber lure. No leader either!

Daughter fishing continuned: my granddaughter is 7 and for some totally unknown reason I've wanted to take her fishing since she was 4 or 5, which is weird because I don't go fishing. It just struck me one day that I wanted to introduce her to fishing. I've had a rod of some type for years but I don't know anything about it. What I do know is that I received a rod and reel in a really great cylindrical metal case as a holiday gift when I was 7 or 8. That's weird, too, because my parents didn't fish. I had a cousin who did and he took me; I remember going to the pier in Santa Monica with him, or maybe it was Malibu. He loved to fish. We also went at night for the grunion run when I was a little older a couple of times. That was cool.

Big fish, little fish, boats, shore, your pics are great.

Love this thread!

Tim - Check Out Landshark Outdoors on Youtube great Fisherman and Cook all over Florida.

Hey Tim looks like you jumped in for that one. Lol.  We need to try and hook up at some point. I think you're near me. I'm in Port St Lucie. I prefer fresh water fishing but I'd probably be game for anything.
