Play Ball!!!

Looks like Alex Jones got a new gig.

giants fans are kinda jerky.

had a conference with one yesterday, jesus.

*Not valid in TX.

Still with the runner on second to start the tenth.

I hope the 10 run mercy rule is adapted this year.

Jerky?

Tough start for the Giants.

Yeah. Fuck that 3 hitter rule.  That combined with kaplers incompetence, ruined a great outing by BSS last night.

Would the AL eliminate the DH if pitchers were allowed to hit from a tee?

>>>some giants (insert any team's name) fans are kinda jerky<<<

Fixed that for ya'.

>>>kaplers incompetence<<<

Yeah, too bad they didn't have Bochy last night.

He would have handled things way better, like the way he did in the 2016 playoffs when HIS "incompetence" lost the game and the series, and then often during his final three failed years.

You know, after he lost the best group of relievers most any manager ever had.

It's a lot easier to be a brilliant "pitcher whisperer" when you've got four champion caliber relievers & a great closer you can run out every night.

Kapler & his staff did an excellent overall job last year, no reason to think that won't continue. He's fine.

But I get it, we gotta' blame somebody, and Kapler will never be the Hallowed Bochy, so I guess it's always going to be him.

In this particular case I blame Belt & Crawford more than the new pitchers.

It's a long season, Belt & Crawford are not going to blow many double-plays and those guys won't always pitch that bad, and if they do they'll be gone fast, because the team has lots of options.

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

White Sox rookie catcher Yermin Mercedes just went five-for-five in his first career start, a new MLB record. The old record, 4 hits, was set twice, the last time in 1928. He also drove in 4 runs. He's 28 years old, spent 10 years in the minors, and isn't considered a high-end prospect. Yasmin Grandal's the current starter, and Zach Collins, currently the DH, is considered the future. Baseball's a funny game.

More like it tonight.

Atta' boy Giants.

It's just so great to see Buster back out there and swinging it like he used to. I hope he can last, and I LOVE him batting 7th where the pressure is off and he can sneak attack a pitcher who thinks he's gotten through the tough part of the lineup.

Still, no matter how many games the Giants win this year they're going to be looking up at the Padres & Dodgers.

Fuckers.

But the Giants are going to be scrappy, and should keep it interesting.

GG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright! Ready for some baseball! Lots of baseball.

Giants disappoint again this year, I bet.

Let's Go Oakland!

The Giants never disappoint me.

I bought some tickets today, and I'm looking forward to going to a few games this month.

You A's fans should be happy too, since the allowed capacity for their games is set right now at 12,000 it will be just like normal times at the Coliseum. And still, as always, never a sold out game.

It's those stupid green & yellow hats.

GO GIANTS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The AL Champs started their season in NL Miami, so pitcher's had to bat. I thought it was interesting that our "new" ace, Tyler Glasnow, was NOT allowed by Kevin Cash to swing the bat when he got up. The kid was jonesin' to take a hack.

Both games really tight, but they go for the 3-game road sweep today.

Hey! Lance Newberry, at the start of a new baseball season everybody is in contention.

Now I have been a fan for as long as I have followed baseball of BOTH our Bay Area teams and never saw a contradiction.

"We like three baseball teams, the A's, the Giants, and any team that beats the Dodgers (or Yankees)."

In the 1989 World Series some people got upset with me for not picking one team over the other. The only disappointment I had was wanting the series to go seven games with each game decided by one run. Sadly, the A's crushed the Giants in that series, oh and there was that annoying earthquake before game 3.

Mercedes is now 7 for 7 including a home run in his first at bat tonight. Lawdy.

8 for 8. Dude's on fire.

Damn. If a Met got off to a start like that, I'd expect him to go 0-for-August.

The streak ends at 8. Nice run for a journeyman minor leaguer. Good for him.

I saw a stat that he has more hits than the whole Atlanta Braves team so far. lol.

A couple of thoughts after my team played a six-game road trip, the first three in an American League park...

1.  Last year was so weird in so many ways that it wasn't that big a deal to me, and maybe also because my Giants are well-suited for the DH, I forgot just how great it is to watch REAL baseball again, with my boys playing in a National League park the past three days.

The universal DH is coming and soon, but POOP on that BS. It's dumbed-down, it's soft-ball rules, it's not the real game. I forgot how cool it is to watch all the thought & strategy & circumstance that comes with the starting 9 all fielding AND hitting. I was a bit surprised at how really great it was to see real baseball being played again.

2.  The business of starting extra-inning games with a runner on 2nd? AN ABOMINATION!!!!!! It's T-BALL stuff, it's a children's game, it's an abortion of all things major league professional.

One might be able to debate the DH (and lose) but anyone with a say who supports that extra-inning BS should be banned from the league, and it should be abolished IMMEDIATELY!

But no, it works for the dumbed-down, and most importantly, it works for commercial/TV money.

MO' MONEY, MO' MONEY!

When is enough enough? When ruining the very fabric of the game is at stake?

The Giants scored the winning run today on two fly balls. That's not baseball. That's not how a major league baseball team should win a game.

But it's what we have until somebody with some heart, and some depth and some soul is in control, so what the hell, damn the torpedoes (and the dumbed-down) and...

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!

Go phils

Totally agree Tom. And add the 3 hitter rule. That garbage gotta go.

Great game today even though the ump was horrible.  I would like to see his scorecard for today.  Do they make those available to the public?

Another great start from BSS. Not sure how he does it all.....

And GO Giants!!!

Go Giants! Great to hear Jon Miller on the play by play. Tune over to the A's game and there are Kuiper the Younger and Ray Fosse still gathering wool.

The Designated Hitter has always been and remains an abomination.

The new rule changes are also desecrations of the game.

So is having nonstop noise, lights and videos during and between innings. Remember the days when you heard the murmur of the crowd and the game played out at its own pace?

I do.

And you kids stay the hell off my lawn!
