i love everything about katie porter

She's a badass, but ogkb should be here shortly to tell me why that's wrong.

>>ogkb should be here shortly to tell me why that's wrong.

He's busy right now, trying to work a spin about how the $1.9 trillion package is fucking the working class harder than ever, and it's just blue maga.

Just a bunch of neo lib corporate apologists

Katie Porter is a smart as fuck, funny as fuck, take no prizners REPRESENTATIVE who suffers no fools. She is also a single mother , survivor of domestic abuse and has an impressive education and teaching pedigree...id not like to face her in the witness box unless i knew my shit...

you guys can thank all of the progressive voters in the OC., you're welcome.

1.9 trillion>>>>

Biden and Manchin got together and made sure that less people got checks than under the trump administration.

Is Manchin president now?

Less people who make over $75,000 or couples making over $150,000 so more children can be lifted out of poverty.

do you really think a one time check of $1400 makes a difference to people at those income levels?!

Biden didn't sacrifice much at all to get this passed by 100 percent of Democrats. Zero GOP support. But yeah, blame the Democrats. Oy

What children are being lifted out of poverty? They got per child money which like you said probably won't last long. Biden  has been very busy rounding up and detaining immigrant children, for sure.

Biden couldn't get more checks to the American middle class than Trump did during the pandemic. He made that deal, personally. Facts.

At this point that is just conjecture. In three months we can look at poverty numbers. Right now, that's just gaslighting.

Mikey E's personal fav

Bernie says it's good - now you're just moving the goal posts, lol. I'm sure you'd approve if it wasn't President Biden.

NPR is gaslighting now. Jeez. You are so full of shit

>Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Mr. Progressive, wants to disabuse you of that notion. In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on Monday night, he was glowing about the new stimulus bill, not just for what it does to fund vaccines, schools and local government operations, but also for the larger progressive wins contained in it -- despite the major loss of his $15 minimum wage proposal.

"Anderson, in my view, this is the most significant legislation for working people that has been passed in decades," Sanders said, adding to Cooper that he's still got plans to pass the wage hike that was stripped from the bill.

The money is given to the caregivers. There is no gaurentee it will ever reach the basic needs for those they are caring for. Yes, that article is gaslighting. Not surprised you can't see that though.

Bernie? Your point? I don't support him at all. Just another trash senator who needs to retire.

So you don't like Bernie now. Okay. Back to Katie Porter, is she good enough for ya? Who is your dream representative? And what are you doing to get that person elected?  I'm really confused about who or what you do support. Sounds like you're just here to complain.

Don't know anything about her. I don't like American politics and usually don't agree with mot politicians. Gnite

As facts matter, here's a pretty factual breakdown of the package. It explains the differences between the House, Senate and Biden's version, and isn't laden with bias: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/03/04/politics/stimulu...

Honestly, Timpane, the fact that you're bitching about this package has crossed the line of ridiculousness. You're just arguing to argue.

lol the dems cultists are just like the trumpers.

lifting kids out of poverty? maybe not pay slave wages.

biden is against raising the min. wage, as he just showed us.

<<<>>>Bernie says it's good - now you're just moving the goal posts, lol. I'm sure you'd approve if it wasn't President Biden.

this is one of the most disgusting things the blue maga brunch liberals spew -- it proves exactly what we're saying, and you don't even know it. super funny.

who gives a fuck if bernie says this bill is good? it's another corporate handout.

i've said this before -- bernie is overall good. but his supporters don't blindly fall in line for  everything the guy does, just b/c he's bernie sanders, lol how fucking stupid is that  -- unlike blue maga, example is the poster nanc.

she even said, "i'm sure you'd approve if it wasn't biden".

that's fucking stupid, that's what you do -- b/c you're a party cultist.

you don't care about policy, just that your team does something.

fuck that. fuck the people who support that and push that ideology. we are not on the same team.

Benghazi!

npr published an article that called bernie "mr. progressive".

lol npr is liberal trash.

which apologists support cuomo staying in as governor?

Who's bitching? I was arguing that you are and Nancy wrong. Biden sat down and screwed out people from the middle class from a stimulus check. I can point out your bullshit and call you on it. Don't get your thong in a twist

Nancy thinking Biden took children out of poverty is just physchopathic

The bill coming up is actually in jeopardy and is more important than this American rescue bill.

Bk,

Your article doesn't mention two facts.

1. Trump gave more stimulus checks to more middle class citizens than Biden in both stimulus packages during his term during a pandemic.

2. Trump gave more stimulus money to the middle class during a pandemic

Bidens legacy not looking too good

> we are not on the same team

We should get some hats made: ogkb sez we're blue maga.

Dude, this bill gave a shit-ton more to states, municipalities and schools than the others. It bettered a few existing programs (that weren't great to start). It isn't and shouldn't be solely about cash in pockets.

Look, the stimulus package is far from perfect. It is nowhere near as crappy as you're making it out to be, and your whole "Trump did more" is bordering on fairy tale.

^Just remember blue maga gets everything produced in China. Just like your Biden/Harris zip up hoodie that made by a ten year old trapped in a 20 story building with nets outside.

>  Just like your Biden/Harris zip up hoodie

Dude. Have you been going through my drawers?

this is the apologizing i'm taking about.

im super high so it's funny as shit.

Whatcha smoking tonight, ogkb? I'm deep into some Mazar here.

It's not a fairytale. It's a fact that trump gave more to the middle class. It's not a great start for Bidens farce progressive administration.

It is sad what the corporate dems have done to Bernie. They have him echo Bidens cabinet posts on Twitter to validate blue maga dems   every "progressive" movement.

>>>>>It's a fact that trump gave more to the middle class.

More to trickle down if you believe in that.

I don't think that anyone needs to apologize for a $1.9 trillion relief package.

I heard they had a scarf, Mikey E. Made in Vietnam

A 2 trillion$ package is on the shelf for infustructure. It's more important but Biden made his "promises". We will see what happens with it. They can not use reconciliation now.

watermelon skittles

Obama kush here

lol

<<<<>>>>Biden didn't sacrifice much at all to get this passed by 100 percent of Democrats. Zero GOP support. But yeah, blame the Democrats. Oy

actually, biden and the dems negotiated down the relief, only to get zero republican support.

how fucked up and stupid is that?

blue maga.

>>>unlike blue maga

I've heard the Democrats' obsession with Russia Gate and everything else the last 4-5 years as BlueAnon.  I liked that.

It is true. The democrats literally could have passed anything. They didn't need one Republican vote. They could have passed 15$/hr. They voted against it. They could have passed whatever they wanted it but they negotiated it down all by themselves for no reason. Democrats did that.

blue maga is real

all this shit expires at the end of the year. sad.

look, there's a couple good things in there, yes -- but they didn't use their chance to make long term changes to protect americans.

they didn't want to upset their corporate masters, and this bill proves that.

when biden said, "nothing will fundamentally change", he was serious.

risky shit here -- we saw what happened to obama not going big on stimulus, he lost america over to the white supremacist party.

> there's a couple good things in there

OMG. Are you feeling okay, ogkb? I don't know if I've ever heard you say a positive thing about politics.

>lifting kids out of poverty? maybe not pay slave wages. <

in response to states/cities paying Hero pay for them working thru the pandemic, kroeger has decided to just close stores...meanwhile their profits are up 90%....

>actually, biden and the dems negotiated down the relief, only to get zero republican support.

how fucked up and stupid is that?

blue maga. <<

yeah, thanks...weakened/watered down for what? why try? shove that shit down their throats as they do when in power. play nice...lol

I'm 61 years old, and I'm trying to think of any time when I was pleased, happy or even just mildly okay with the government of the United States.

Nope. Not once. Well maybe when Jimmy Carter admitted he was an Allman Brothers fan. Maybe?

This could be why I assume there's no hope or much of a future for my offspring here and suggest they move to New Zealand.

Please lose the sexist/homophobic trope "sucking dick".

You're talking like a teacher again, Slacker.

You are old sixer. Like really old.

Hey, I resemble that remark, although I'm not quite as old as Sixer.

Yes, I am, JR. And because of that - I got to experience the Grateful Dead in the 1970's.

your $1400 can be garnished if you owe debts.

this legislation makes it more difficult for 3rd parties play.

democracy.

Do you see any positives in this legislation?

yes, i already mentioned i did.

What, in particular, do you see as positives?

I'll say, although it isn't universal health, the expansion of health insurance subsidies and elimination of income cap is a huge step forward. Vermont Health Connect workers have been told to prepare for a mass onslaught of people claiming benefits. I think that this is one that we can't move back from, and it sets a path to something like universal.

I agree the next two years of the health insurance subsidies should be now to provide support for those who can't afford decent healthcare. In two years there will be  shitshow though when millions off Americans receive a bill in the mail for three times the cost and they all have to configure their coverages.

Anyone who knows the US gov knows none of these stimuli are free. There will be larg tax hikes down the road. They'll get it back from us one way or the other.

pretty hot thread. would already be around 230 posts if it was the old zone.

>>>>In two years there will be  shitshow though when millions off Americans receive a bill in the mail for three times the cost and they all have to configure their coverages.

Nope this is why Republicans fought so hard to kill the ACA because they know once you give Americans a benefit you can't take it away and expect to get reelected. Biden understands this too which is why he put it in for two years. That benefit is now permanent.

Not at all. It's two years. If they lose the senate and the house in 2022 don't count on your blue maga fantasy coming true. You guys and your pipe dreams. Funny stuff.

Most recent history proves that your logic is way off. 2016 election prime example.

10 months ago I said that Joe Biden will end up being the most consequential president since FDR.  So far right on track.

^*yawn*

Boring day on the zone. Someone make it fun

> Someone make it fun

Because we all know it won't be Timpane who does it.

Out some excitement into the zoner community, Mikey E

I'm still waiting on your Covid Jesus thread.

^It already happened. Went over 200+ posts. I'd say it was a success:
