Scheduled for 5 flights at a cost of $85m

$17m a pop is quite the firecracker

Not including freight

Is pot legal there?

If not fuggedaboutit!

Space exploration is dope.

If the US government took an accounting of all its BS expenditures, including much of the military budget, and spent just 3% of all that on space exploration instead, cool things would be seen. Right now it makes up only .48% of government spending.  There is a whole other universe out there so lets go see it..

personally think there's a ton of valuable societal shit to be spending said $ on...

I had a customer that was rally wealthy, wealthy like a new Ferrari every year wealthy about 20 years or more ago. He went to Russia and paid 250,000 for one of those rides in a jet that go to the doge of space, or dipped into space. I see now you can do it still for a lot less now.

the guy was actually a crook, he had a huge gas station next to the rental car places by Orlando International Airport. They did not have billboards with pricing and the gas was $2.00 more a gallon than anywhere else in town. I even got bamboozled once. Pumping and not looking at the price and when the pump shut down it was twice as much as any fill up I had before. Bitched at the attendant but they were pros in the con. He got taken to court for price gouging and was on the news. He kept doing it for long time, kept fighting the court case.

it seems Musk is cleaning up in a business NASA should be making the money on, or partner with a Musk who appears smarter than the people at NASA, at the same things NASA been studying for years

why can government not get involved with something with a positive cash flow and use the funds to offset my taxes, instead of a job creator for donors, friends and other payback deals? Yea, lil socialism, but we have other form of socialism but they are all negative cash flows, and the whole democracy side of this type of deal is it is usually crooked as all get out, but that is OK

Helicopters on Mars would be a great band name...;)

If the pace of space exploration were anything like Moore's Law, shouldn't we be way further along by now considering how far along we've already made it?

Guess it otherwise mostly boils down to funding and priorities.  I think it'd likely ultimately help the human condition, but it's hard to justify the expense in light of existing needs of people on Earth ... although slash in military budget makes sense.

Yeah cut the military spending. Lol

Down to about 1/4 what it is now. And we will be just as safe if not safer.
