So says a new multi-year study out of Michigan. https://theconversation.com/weed-withdrawal-more-than-half-of-people-usi...
I love how the conversation.com discloses info on the authors. The author of this article receives funding from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Although it may not mean anything, it could also mean that she's locked into a certain paradigm, and that her results are self-serving.

I don't know about withdrawals, but I have had very colorful and complex dreams, unusual for me, when I've stopped smoking. They stop after a while.

I just stopped about a week
I just stopped about a week ago, usually I am a one hitter on a daily maintenance program, but had a bunch of different strains I had collected about 2 oz. over Christmas, New Years, with time off of work. Started rolling joints and smoking half, then whole joints. More of a maintenance thing to blow the gunk out of my lungs, and lower tolerance.
side effects, not so hungry, losing weight, and feeling a bit better in the morning. I'm 60 been smoking since I was 15, I do this about every 3 or so years for a month or two. Edibles - not form me. I will be back. Fo sho

"howdy Neighbor. 1974 Calling. Yeah, I'd like that copy of Good Housekeeping back. Well, you said that the Marshmallow Pimiento Loaf recipe piqued your interest, but you've been posting the pot articles in the Future."
Anyway, more serious is withdrawal from those "Benzo" druques liek valium and xanax, which can kill you.
Booze addicts can die from withdrawal, I've read. So don't run out if you drink a bunch.
Then there's the opioids, where the junquies get a pretty bad Flu upon running out. They puke and shit and sweat and shiver. "She caught the Covid !! Yet another Covid hospital trip. "

I did the 'dry January' and quit both alcohol and THC for the whole month. This is the first time ever I've gone this long without smoking or drinking and It turned out to be much easier than I thought. Way easier than when I quit tobacco.
My biggest complaint.... I'm fuckin bored. In bed by 10 and up around 5 every day. Restless nights too, mostly because of the vivid dreams. I can't say that I'm enjoying the multiple crazy dreams every night. Also, I thought I would feel much better. Maybe I need to go longer to really get the benefit of feeling better. Oh well. I glad to know that I can quit both with relative ease and I might go a few more weeks, if I can stand the boredom and the dreams. Ha

I can't remember the last
I can't remember the last time I had no stash, and also can't remember the last time I didn't use cannabis for a day or more. I don't smoke a lot these days--maybe a half a joint a day--and take about 10 mg of THC in edibles late in the day. It's something that works for me, so I don't see the need to withdraw.

If a person consumes a
If a person consumes a psychoactive chemical every day and stops suddenly side effects are bound to occur. Simply put a person will feel lousy for a few days.
This could be considered withdrawal despite its psychological predominance. The physical manifestations are nominal at worst.
Discussing benefits although off topic after quitting are also common: better memory, etc.
