but ya might get burned

where can I get early info on the Reddit Maurauders, I want to throw in with that group

What a fantastic play. Hedge fund managers are eating their shorts.

$5 a share just a few weeks ago

Transaction fee on all trades for stocks above $100

Go get them Reddit crowd the casino style capitalism was disgusting from inside to the point most of my friends who worked in the industry have almost no money in the stock market except 401k's.
Fuck Wall Street I care about Main Street

Kind of brilliant to use options leverage en masse.

Moral of the story

Never short a gamer especially if your playing a game yourself

Let's watch the White House and congress fuck the regular people and protect the hedge funds.  You know because everyone knows the rules.

Is Doge on the move now?

nobody in the government will bail out a hedge fund.

The closest to that happening was Long Term Capital Managment in late 80s, but the Fed is not the government, and...

LTCM was not a bailout, itwas the Fed forcing the investment banks to each buy a share of the failed hedge fund...the original partners got nothing.

American Airlines is now in on the action.

For the record, this shit is hilarious, but a lot of people are going to get burned.

OGI on the move, Sundial was but my friend said his Robinhood app shut it down

My son just started getting into this, but until I heard a story on NPR this morning laying out what is happening, I didn't really understand it.    He turned a 53% profit on Nokia penny stock in just two days using meme level investing advice.  He calls it Robin Hood market manipulation.

50% gain on Doge from this morning, too bad I only threw 100.00 at but thats all I was holding in after hours

not selling my others to join the circus though

maybe we should start a stock thread

 LPTX

I have a 401 K, and do not mess much with that

and I have been messing with Robinhood for fun the past two years, I have made money but the last two days ate some of it

but mine look to be coming back and holding around what I paid for them.

if I had young kids I would give them a couple hundred bucks and the app and turn them loose, and learn investing, would be a great life skill imo if they study it. My kids in there late 20s seem to do good in investing. They pretty much stick to what the use, like Apple, Disney, and they also are first to jump in on new technology they believe in like Tesla. I like to gamble with my account, because, at heart, I am a degenerate

ha ha.

FUCK those bastards!

they STOPPED TRADING....

wait, the avg. joe is doing what we do daily??!

we must have regulation, oversight!!!

full on meltdowns.

greedy predatory motherfuckers. hope it tastes like shit!

awesome. Burn baby, burn.

Game Stop. What an appropriate  name for this incident

Isn't it though?

These guys basically found the side door into the stock exchange, and started a chess game at the craps table.

Blockbuster Video... Wow, what a difference !

I am playing around w/ a Robinhood account, but not taking part in this Gamestop game.
What concerns me is that the buying decisions are not based on business performance.

^^^

I just stole your meme.

I guess Gamestop isn't doing too hot today.

>>>>What concerns me is that the buying decisions are not based on business performance.

Funny, just like CEO bonuses.

And our old fart legislators are looking at the Robinhood app as the problem. How out of touch with reality are they? There are a bunch of apps just like Robinhood out there for people to invest with. In fact most people that know what they are doing do not use Robinhood from what I know. It is probably the worst app to use.

Vote all of these old fuckers my age out of government once and for all, it is killing us, literally

While I applaud the people who were first movers with this technique, I immediately thought that it would not work for very long and a lot of people are going to take a major haircut when it's all over. What will probably happen is with the prices so high for what is a garbage stock and the notoriety this whole thing has gotten, none of the trading houses will have enough stock to make the market. Regulatory bodies will then de-list the stock from trading so most people will not be able to buy or sell the stock in places they usually do. During that freeze, the stock will drop to a price of a few cents. Anyone that didn't get in and get right out will have lost almost every penny they put in. When the dust settles and the stock is listed on a market again, the houses that have long period options will then buy up everything they can and in the process make billions. What people are forgetting is hedge funds lose big frequently and have the capital and investment strategies to ride it out. The regular investor usually has neither of those things.

The real story here is not the dumb money pump and dump.  What's fascinating and should be investigated is how companies like robin hood, TD ameritrade, etc shut down trading (buying) of particular companies.  That is market manipulation and there have already been class action lawsuits filed today.

Time for Pocahontas to shine.  This is when she's best.

Ted Cruz agreeing with AOC? Wild.

The original Werewolf of Wall Street guy said today in an interview that the investors may be judged to have committed collusion (let's do this...) and the apps might be liable if sued by the funds who took a loss. So they had to shut it down to save themselves from a lawsuit.

Either way, the lawyers make out.

the new clubhouse is on telegram

>>>>Ted Cruz agreeing with AOC? Wild.

I saw somewhere today that Rush Limbaugh was also up in arms about it.   I actually agree with the turd on this.   I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day and I bet a lot of his listeners are stay at home day traders.

Maybe WallStreetBets Reddit is the new effort for Russia/other foreign countries to destabilize US. Now that we are past election, they are looking to hit the Market/Capitalism.

^insane.

Everyone talking about an AMC run today like gamestop

Sold my Doge this am 3x profit in 24 hour too bad I only threw a small amount at it, thank you Elon Musk, ever time he tweets about Doge being the crypto he wants in space the thing goes off, I am sure he is just fucking around, but that is a big stick that he swings

Robin Hood now called Robbing Hood

where do they get off calling the company Robin Hood when they shut down the little guys?!

>>>Maybe WallStreetBets Reddit is the new effort for Russia/other foreign countries to destabilize US.<<<

naw, no way. all the cards are on the table for everyone to see, here. The beautiful thing is - nobody can really attach any of the "usual" isms to this. It's not sexism, terrorism, racism, communism, or anything else on display here but good old fashioned capitalism.

and I've got to say this thought about this "thing" being fake, or dumb, because the stock prices aren't rooted in real-world value is nonsense. Stock prices are generally least rooted in actual value, and primarily rooted in hope and mathematical probabilities. That's the problem with letting them as a main driver our financial system. Case in point - Tesla. They sell $100,000 cars and run a lithium mine. How much value is there for someone, as a retail consumer, who can't financially participate anyways? How much safer are your roads, really? How much does the lithium mining truly offset petroleum production? For the 99%, where's the sauce?

While many industries are much better insulated (financially) than those within entertainment sector, this seems like it could potentially be a useful weapon to financially attack hedges that own corporations operating within the private prison industry, weapons manufacturers, pharmaceutical suppliers, etc...

Robinhood shuts down when Robinhood shit starts happening

such a poor choice in a name

power

to

the

people

Robinhood was scheduled to go public, well that's not gonna happen and I'm betting the company will be filling for bankruptcy very soon. Don't see how they're relevant anymore.

I read on fb AMC shorts start to expire on Monday thru Thursday what do you guys think is there money to be made here ?

I bought AMC stock when it dropped below $3 a few months back thinking Amazon might end up buying them out.  This could get interesting.

*eye roll* My POV on russia hysteria was stated well over 4 years ago. AFA  russiagate goes, I don't enjoy my taxes paying for things that won't lead to successful prosecution. You're a sad little pathetic person to cling to that like it ever mattered. Unless you've got a link to a post of mine with a time stamp keep my handle out of your shit posts.

Swinging on the lifeline
Fraying bits of twine
Entangled in the remnants of the
Knot I left behind
And asking you to help me make it
Finally unwind

But God never listens to what I say
God never listens to what I say
And you don't get a refund
If you overpray

And when the line is breaking
And when I'm near the end
When all the time spent leading
I've been following instead
When all my thoughts and memories are
Left hanging by a thread

God never listens
Stranded on this slender string

Stock market has crashed three times in the last twenty years alone. Put money with Certified Fiduciary Advisor that's obligated to put there clients first. Watched Auto & Airlines industry skirt there pension benefits in early 2000's forcing Pension Benefit Guarantee Corp to pick up the tab. Companies spent pension money on mergers then skirted there obligations.

3 crashes in 20 years think pinball tilt each time everybody's money wiped off the table.

Public companies have to show growth every quarter or stock gets pummeled. This forces companies to lie, cheat & steal.

Every 20 years they remake old movies & old stock market ripoffs because Americans don't know their history

I don't know nearly as much about options trading as I do about precious metals investing, and what I'm seeing here with this silver squeeze is something to shy away from. Yes, the spot price increased by about 10% net over the weekend. That's a solid gain but well within the proportions of an otherwise normal swing. I'm watching real-time buys and sells however, at 35% and more over melt. That's total panic buying. The good news is you can never really lose "everything" with metals as you can with stocks. The bad news is the swings are generally much farther (decades) and less dramatic (+/- 50%) in between, making gains steady and incremental across years rather than going up or down in big chunks.

In my opinion, the silver market is too large (and supply also grows daily, unlike stocks) for this to really move the market like the hunt brothers did, or more. It's commonplace for trades to happen at 10-15% over spot, to account for handling costs and to create a small amount of win/loss insurance, which really benefits both buyers and sellers.

Right now, this is a seller's market you are looking at. Personally, history informs me to sell between $55-65/oz. Hasn't happened yet in my lifetime, but I think it will. Can't see it happening this go around unless a few major international banks, metal exchanges, or mining companies, or some combo of the three go belly up this week...

gamestop = small pond, big fish

metals = big pond, mostly all small fish

You should stick to making hash.

I can walk and chew gum at the same time. You'll get there too, with a lot of practice.
