My first show and it was a smoker

Grateful Dead January 8, 1979 at MSG https://archive.org/details/gd79-01-08.gatto.glyde.10283.sbeok.shnf

Twas my third.  One of two shows I went to without a ticket.  Didn't get into the other.

Wow what a Fine show for a Smoker First.

Link doesn't work for me but DeadBase shows the setlist.

Interesting East Coast Tour post-Winterland Blues Bros. and NRPS 12-31-1978 extravaganza. Looks like they did Philly Spectrum as a wraparound, 1-5-1979 and 1-12-1979.

Mom and Pop did not allow me to attend Grateful Dead Shows on School nights, so I missed out.

Philly was a make up date from the canceled show in November.

Also BluestNote,  how are you and Family. Best wishes toward all y'all.

MSG Jan 79 was also a make up from canceled Nov. 78 dates due to Jerry's voice.

1/7 & 1/8 had consecutive-night Good Lovin' performances. Second/Third shows; I probably didn't think it was unusual.  Throw in my first (9-2-78) and it's a Hat Trick.

I'd have to figure out and look up my fourth to check the streak.

A good chunk of my first show setlist was represented in 2&3.

1/7 & 1/8 had consecutive-night Good Lovin' performances>>>

12/30/78, 12/31/78, 1/5/79, 1/7/79, 1/8/79, 1/10/79, 1/11/79.  7 straight shows w/Good Lovin'.

Saw 1/5 & 1/7, no show on the 6th, repeated......

Estimated,  Eyes,  Peter,  Around,  Good Love, Stagger, Heart of Me

And the shows I saw before those 2 was on the Nov '78 tour in Rochester & Giants 9/2/78

Estimated,  Eyes,  Good Love,  Stagger.

Same here. I was at 9/2 and 11/24....my first two shows.

Shakedown Street was the album that was most recently released so that kinda makes sense w Good Lovin
