Red Rocks announces 2021 concert schedule, including JRAD, TTB, STS9

Forums:

This seems ambitious given COVID numbers and slow path for young people to get vaccines, but kinda brightened my day to see a schedule of shows!

April?  Doubt it.

I just looked up the outdoor event guidelines in Colorado, below... currently Jefferson County, for Red Rocks, is level orange -- high risk.

That would be wild to see a show there at 50% capacity!

Limit capacity depending on venue size accounting for usable square footage* and appropriate limits in the current county dial level.

Level Green - Protect Our Neighbors: outdoor events, both seated and unseated, may be conducted at 50% capacity not to exceed 500 people per designated activity or area.

Level Blue - Caution: 50% capacity up to 250 people per designated activity or area, for both seated and unseated events.

Level Yellow - Concern: for unseated events, 50% capacity or up to 175 people within the usable space calculated using the Distancing Space Calculator, excluding staff, per designated activity or area. For seated events, 50% capacity or up to 175 people with 6 feet distancing between non-household contacts.

Level Orange: High Risk: for unseated events, 25% capacity or up to 75 people within the usable space calculated using the Distancing Space Calculator, excluding staff, per designated activity or area. For seated events, 25% capacity or up to 75 people with 6 feet distancing between non-household contacts.

Level Red - Severe Risk: attend only with members of your own household. For unseated events, 25% capacity or up to 75 people within their usable space calculated using the Distancing Space Calculator, excluding staff, per designated activity or area. For seated events, 25% capacity or up to 75 people with 6 feet distancing between parties.

Level Purple - Extreme Risk: closed.

The biggest surprise is that David Gray can actually headline Red Rocks.

June on should be more realistic.  Some big names up there and I don't think they would be booking venues and planning tours unless they think its a go.

Now is the time to be getting tickets, especially for acts that typically sell out quick.

I think that dude's headlined stadiums.^^

Unless I thinking of that other guy.

Either way, this is about them:

Whoa, get this -- I wrote to Red Rocks (semi-slow day at the office) and their Marketing Director responded -- the story is an error, and the original news outlet "Out There" has updated the story.

Christine –

We were shocked to see the announcement, too.  Red Rocks hasn’t announced a season in years – tickets go on sale so far in advance and throughout the summer that it isn’t feasible.

Out There Colorado got a little aggressive in “announcing” the season and took what was already on the Red Rocks website (shows from 2020 that have been rescheduled to 2021) and posted that as a newly announced season – it isn’t and they’ve since changed the verbiage in the article.  Those shows may or may not play off, depending on Covid restrictions and venue capacities allowed.  As for buying tickets to those shows, you already may be out of luck since they were already sold out and may have reduced capacities going forward.

When the venue reopens, we will let people know what protocols look like and, as always, the shows that are rescheduled are subject to further rescheduling or cancellation depending on the artist and pandemic.

Thanks.

Brian

Psych!

Super spreader concert season on the launch pad.

Darn,  I was just about to book my plane Tickets for Glass Animals.

Maybe next Summer.

Who knew Avett Brothers 3-night runs at Red Rocks were a thing?

Is Sensi Nugjar opening for Ganja White Knight?

^ HD, I think it's 'Ganja White Night' not spelled like "Ganja Knights in White Satin".

Probably a celebration of Pot strains like 'White Widow', 'White Rhino' and such.
I had thought about that run,  but 'Glass Animals' seemed more Animal-themed.

It's been a long time since I visited Red Rocks,  but maybe I can roll over my plane tickets to 2022.

That would be liek, a 40-year Anniversary for me,  as the last Red Rocks experience was Grateful Dead Summer 1982.

TTB at the end of July might be a possibility, if it happens and isn't already sold out.

July 15 – Trampled by Turtles / Caamp

July 19 – Kaleo with Matt Maeson and Belle Mt.<<<

I have no illusions of any of this being a long shot, but really hoping cheese will fill in their "traditional slot" of the weekend between these two dates.

Easy Wind, thanks for posting that story!  The guy they interviewed from RR is the same guy who wrote me (above).

He did a good job to pitch this story to explain what happened... and how so many of these "news outlets" really don't do authentic reporting -- they don't take time to verify facts.

Bought a pair for JRAD and Wilco....more to come.

"Who knew Avett Brothers 3-night runs at Red Rocks were a thing?"

They have sold out 3 night runs for the last few years. It's a "destination" thing for the Avett heads.

^^^ funny, but the logic statement is clunky, to say the least.

signed, a Deadhead who travels for JRAD.

Does the TeeVee count?

Asking for an old friend.

Seen the JRAD's and enjoyed the show, Oteil Burbridge on bass instead of the usual Guy.
Tower in Philly.

I enjoy listening to their recordings over mixlr or Archive.

However, GD Summer 1982 was a unique 3-show run. Two Other One appearances 1st and 3rd night (It was Trips Festival in Boulder that time). Also Phil puffed a Doob onstage.

And it rained a lot.
