Right on Quinn. Growing up, my parents hosted a New Years Day party every year, and Hoppin' John was a big component.

Thanks for the memory.

I was asked to grab some good tequila

Dude man at the liquor store said this was good

My Son is impressed

Looks like you're back on your feet Tim.

Lining up my music now.---- Crown Royal - and a good domestic beer.---- picked up a lobster tail and other goodies- I'll try cooking it in the oven - yikes.

Hoppin John on the stove for tomorrow.

I am doing calamari too. Thawing out a 3 lb box.  Decided to try a squid stew instead of all that work to fry or bake them.

Doing a cheese tortellini in butternut squash sauce for lunch.  Will make a huge pitcher of fresh fruit juice and tequila for tonight.

2 and a half weeks since I fell  and finally went in for xrays last night. 2 broken fingers in my hand and one may need surgery. Also 2 broken ribs.   So I am simplifying a bit.

On a positive note, Mr Garyfish came down to stay for awhile and help out.  Good thing cause they covered my left hand with a huge splint last night. It is good to see my old friend. It has been awhile.

Walked down A1A and got tacos from Mojos and then beers from Old City Brewery.   Now back at the folks place with this:

Florida Man & Whisky.jpg

Had a neighbor couple over for creme brulee and champagne, masked and distanced, outdoors. Then we shot off some fireworks when it got dark enough.

Happy New Years east coast

Fireworks were mega-loud last night.  Very strange.  I suspect some neighbors blasted them to say good riddance to 2020, and others tried to match it saying fuck the election results.

Either way, the year ended loudly.

Got an assortment of rubs & sauces & chips from a Chicago-based, NC-style BBQ joint.

Baked some baby-backs.  The rub was good on the fries, too.

Happy New Year folks!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the day and eating and drinking well.

Cheers!!!!
