The sun went down at about 3:45 PM yesterday where I live, but that's at least in part because of the terrain here. I'm looking forward to the return of the light.
Mr. Sun really hangs in there for the west coast of Florida (5:40 set today), but I'm NOT into Winter or the shorter, cooler days... let's start headin' the other way, fer' sher'.
Another interesting planetary thing happening this morn, at 10:21AM PST:
Jupiter is conjunct Saturn
Mid-morning, Jupiter aligns with Saturn in humanitarian Aquarius, the first time these two have met up in the sign of the Water Bearer since January of 1405! This signature makes for a truly auspicious Saturnalia, a festival historically celebrated between December 17 and 23 that invoked the lost Golden Age, when speech was free and all humans were equal.
A Golden Age when speech was free and all humans were equal certainly resonates with a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction on Aquarius’ first degree, heralding sovereignty, invention, and the potential for a new and improved egalitarian society. Jupiter’s tendency towards excess and blind optimism is nicely checked by Saturn’s restraint, making it possible to reform antiquated cultural institutions and systems built with subjugation and control in mind, putting power instead in the hands of the people.
60 degrees in Salt Lake City on Dec 21st! Got the doors open to air the place out. Unbelievable! Looks like clear skies for the event tonight. 7:49 sunrise 5:04 sunset.

Turtle, I saw one on Friday, it shocked the hell out of me because I haven't seen one in a long time
and didn't remember seeing one in December before. (Naturally, no photo).
Judit, it sounds like a beautiful morning. Great stuff. I scraped ice off the windshield this AM; pretty cold for the beach.
