The tour for Remain In Light that I skipped when they played at the Warfield.

To this day that's on my list of major regrets.

I've watched this video so many times over the years.

Just to re-kindle my regret at skipping the show.

My only redemption, and in hindsight it's OK redemption, is I did see them at the Greek in '83, on their final tour.

One of the greatest bands of all time.

Favorite tour hands down.

I really missed out on Talking Heads until recently. Just started to appreciate them a very few yrs ago.

I've always said Leonard Cohen was the coolest dude in the business.  David Byrne is up there.

I missed out on TH as well, but a friend, who is a Phishhead, and I dosed a few weeks back and he introduced me to the Phish 10/31/96 concert when they covered the entire Remain in Light album and then we watched the Stop Making Sense film right after that.

He knew what he was doing. I'm a David Byrne fan ;-) (and enjoying some mid 90's Phish, too)

This is a little embarrassing, but up until about ten years ago, I thought Cities and Cross-eyed and Painless were Phish songs. 

Saw them a year too late for Belew, but it was still the big band.  Byrne had the cool noise end down, if not the chops.

My first trip to Forest Hills.  Didn't return until The Q.

Way back in the daze of trading actual tapes, I fell in with a group of guys that was populated with touring crew members, FOH sound guys at venues, recording engineers and other riff-raff of rock and roll. Most of the members of that group kept their identity on the down-low because if they were found out passing on many of these recordings their jobs would be in jeopardy. Over time some would let you know who they were but unless they volunteered that info it was an unwritten law that one should never ask too many questions or you found yourself blacklisted from the group. I've always prided myself on constant expansion of my musical universe so I normally didn't ask for lists of what they had. My request was send me what you consider your cream of the crop in exchange for what they requested from me. One trading partner that I had was probably the best for sending me stuff from groups that I wasn't familiar with or bands that didn't have much stuff out in the wild. On occasion I would be told that what was sent can NOT be traded beyond me unless another was vetted by me and allowed by the person who originated the material. This one trader would on occasion send me some killer Talking Heads soundboards and being the fan I was and not wanting to sour the arrangement they didn't go beyond me. Flash forward quite a few years and knowing that a friend of mine who was also a big Talking Heads fan I reached out to this trader to ask if I could pass on two shows I especially liked. I hadn't been in contact with them for over a decade and was figuring whatever address I had may no longer be up to date. About 3 weeks later I get a letter giving me permission and him breaking his anonymity. and that he was a musician who played drums for the band. :-)

Heatwave and tape trading! I missed that era.
