It's a win for him because he stays relevant for 4 more years 'touring' the states holding rallies..and we know he loves that..plus all the while disrupting Biden keeping the pressure on .If he wins 2024 he basically gets the 12 years he joked about during the pre election campaign.

I really don't see a downside
I really don't see a downside for him. He gets to grift his supporters. He has already raised $140M. He is already the leader in polling for the Republican primary which means foreign leaders will have to continue to kiss his ass, and more importantly stay at his hotels. Finally he can say that all his upcoming legal troubles are just a witch hunt to keep him from being President.
The only thing that will stop him is if the oligarchs turn on him and they have been showing the slightest signs of being done with him. Will be interesting to see how Murdoch plays it.

The guy managed to get the nomination with a simple plurality in the primaries last time because it was a crowded field and Cruz, Rubio, etc stayed in for the long haul thereby splitting the never Trump vote. Next time, they could take a move from the DNC 2020 playbook and have most of the candidates drop out early and rally around one person which effectively blocked Bernie from being the nominee.
