What a great time that was.  Zoners from all over the country descended on Baltimore.

If anybody has any other videos or photos post em up

that was a hell of a time

ECZJs are something I miss a lot. The above one certainly was a hell of a time. I might be a few days before I can dig out photos because my drives are being reorganized into new storage devices but I will try to fast track that weekend. I got a little sad seeing Perry and Louie in those videos.

RIP Louie and Perry indeed sad

Some of the most fun times I've ever had have been performing music and this one's hard to top; not only in terms of being satisfied with my own performance, something I rarely am, but insofar as venue and audience quality.

I played in 3 of the projects that night and it was an absolute privilege.

I will always b indebted to those who made it possible and/or attended.

May we remember the fallen and rejoice in their memory as well as the rest of the proceedings that took place on that jubilant occasion

huzzah!

I loved that it was streamed. Great energy, great music, tight community. Zoner love.

where are the eastern zoners?

East Coast Represent !!

pretty rad to have taken over an entire historic venue.

schnee and i were trying to recruit the young revelers out on the main drag. FREE PSYCHEDELIC MUSIC...door opened. nobody came in.

the bartender was so dosed he couldn't deal with $.

E ~ thought of you a few Sat nights ago when I was listening to the radio. Figured you would dig this program The Boogie Down With Binky Griptite on WFUV live and online. Binky was the guitarist and band leader of Sharon King and The Dap-Kings and his program is a deep deep dive into soul and funk. Lots of one off singles that even heavy fans of the genres are not aware of but so, so good. Live on Sat night and archive in the weekend shows area of www.wfuv.org

Turtle ~ If I remember correctly, you two did get a few people in the door. I remember talking to at least one of them. I remember things pretty well since the strongest things I put in my body was Red Bull or Rock Star.

We got some people off the street all three years.  Especially the first two.

"This is great!  We were just walking by."

"What's a 'Zoner'"?

Every set of mine I see has at least one tune where I think, "Yeah, probably should've considered a key change for this."

I wuz there ...

Thanks for the heads up, Tony.

ill check that out, those dap tone guys r way legit.

the brief clip of Sharon Jones they showed on the HSBG stream yesterday had me feeling pretty stupid for not taking the opportunity to see her live when I had the chance

The Boogie-Down is also all-vinyl. He'll even play your band's stuff if if meets the prerequisites (1. Vinyl; 2. Funky).

SJ/DKs with Allan Toussaint opening.  A top-10 music appreciation experience in my life.

Perry died?
