Jorma Kaukonen Honored By The State of New Jersey for Providing “Respite and Entertainment” Through COVID-19 Pandemic
After putting on numerous livestreams (and even a few live gigs) through the COVID-19 pandemic, legendary guitarist Jorma Kaukonen has been given an official commendation by the Senate and General Assembly of New Jersey.
As per an official certificate – bestowed on Sept. 21, 2020 – Kaukonen’s livestreams provided New Jersians with “wonderful respite and entertainment during difficult times.”
The honor arrived following Kaukonen’s two-night outdoor run at New Jersey’s Blu Grotto Ristorante at the Monmouth Park racetrack.

I got to see the 2nd night of
I got to see the 2nd night of the Monmouth Park run, and Jorma was on FIRE! Very impressive at age 79 in cold weather! He announced the NJ Legislature Award and was pretty damn pleased about it!
