"At night we camp on the south side of the great Bowknot, and as we eat supper, which is spread on the beach, we name this Labyrinth Canyon."

Doubtful. The trip I was going on didn't work out for timing for some of the folks.

The river is flowing at only 2000 cfs. Been holding steady for weeks. Not sure how much dragging of my 16' boat across sand bars I'd be doing. Though it would be a light boat.

Ever do it that low before, Ned?  I'm wondering what it's like, especially if those afternoon winds kick up.

My buddy just trashed his self-bailing floor on a San Juan trip in low water. Dragged it across rocks like 8 times in the 27 mile upper stretch.

He just bought  a new boat. I believe the "Post Office" you're headed to is still serving folks quite nicely, though.

May go camping down that way instead. New BLM travel plan for the San Rafael desert in that area we know about with 5 hole, etc..... May go take a look. Bastards doubled the road miles in the area, opening up areas that had been closed, and often reclaimed, for years.

I've read that 2000cfs is the lowest flow feasible. We will see.

We have 6 days to do 45 miles. Hoping to have a layover one night if possible. Any recommended spots for a 2 night stay?

I'd like to see if we can hike up into Three Canyon or Horseshoe or Horse Thief.

Winds look light all week. Again, we will see....

There's a great campsite at the end of the road past Keg Knoll (keep right). 5-Hole is the same as Colonnade Arch, correct?

This same crew was there last October same time of year. Have a blast!
