Feeling a bit nostalgic tonight, David bromberg turned 75 yesterday and played an amazing show with no audience...for all of us. Just missing being able to have choices to go see who I want as my mood fits the nite ?
Did we take it all for granted ?
No, not me <3.
( These are not my photos)
Here is a link to his show, you can still purchase until Monday nite and get you tube link to watch. I have nothing in this game, just thought I'd share and support a very kind man who helped me once a while back to acquire a beautiful instrument...thru his expertise and guidance ~

Happy Birthday, David! I've had the pleasure of seeing David many times. One of my last pre-COVID shows was Feb 26th with David and The Quintet opening for Electric Hot Tuna.

Early influence for me. I used to see him regularly in NYC in the 70s. Saw him once at NYU and he brought ought Norman Blake and introduced him as "the only man uglier than me".

I also saw Bromberg and his helluva band open for Electric Hot Tuna in Seattle last year. Was cool to see Tuna join Bromberg for the encore and trade licks with Jorma and Jack. He's a very powerful and captivating performer. I first saw him on Arlo Guthrie's Austin City Limits episode (along with Pete Seeger and Bonnie Raitt) around '86 or so, even though he didn't make much of an impression on me at the time.

Side A of Bandit In A Bathing
Side A of Bandit In A Bathing Suit (Unlisted Track). On my copy (possibly all?), the recording extends into the run-off vinyl so the needle hits the label and bounces back forming a loop, until you pick it up by hand. I wonder if she's ever heard it.
