I think the deal was they waited until the Giants Stadium show at the beginning of September to have a press conference to make the official announcement, because even though they had the blessing of the State Dept., who knows if some politician with a stick up their ass would take offense at this "drug band" going to Egypt and trying to make a stink about it.
