Yesterday, I picked up about 40 cd's from a "free box" in my neighborhood.

I'm really digging this:

Carbon (Elliott Sharp) - autoboot: live and studio rare and unreleased (1994)

Can't find any links to this comp, but this may give you some idea of what it sounds like:

Bonny Light Horseman - Buzzin' Fly  (Tim Buckley cover)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPMbHOfMkto

atelier Theremin - s/t (2001)  "Limited Edition 500 only"

Strange modern Krautrock artsy/edgy stuff, with lots of prose from Dr. Suess, hypnotism (William J. Ousby), David Attenborough and Sidney Cohen.

I just HAD to share a photo of the CD cover:

One of my Fave dead shows;  no sound check, they brought all the instruments out and set up while the other stage rocked with the likes of Robert Cray!   The PA test was a solo Peter Rowan set (which was great),  and I believe it wasn't the Deads PA, but a rental (George Rellis?)

So you can hear the mix change during Bertha as Dan dials it in (Brents keys appear during the second verse, etc)

It's a great Jerry / Phil / Brent show IMHO

Bootsy Collins Announces New Record ‘The Power of The One,’ Shares Title Track

Bootsy Collins has announced a new album, The Power of The One, which is is set to drop on Oct. 23. In addition to the album announcement, Collins also shared the title track from the record, as well as an accompanying video.

“Music is always a soother, a healer, and that’s how I want to use this record,” said Collins via press release. “The Power of the One is what pulls us through. Everyone has “The One” inside of them. You never know who is using you for guidance, so always be pure and never fake the funk. Everybody’s got a light. Everybody needs to shine. It’s there, we just have to trust and use the guidance that is within us, and know that The One knows your program. It was written inside your heart before you made that mad dash racing to be the first one to the egg! You are perfect in the eyes of The One.”

The album was co-written, produced and arranged by Collins, and the recording process began prior to the current pandemic at Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne, Ind. Ultimately, it was completed during quarantine at Collins’ own Boot-Cave Studios in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The album includes an all-star cast of features including: Christian McBride, Snoop Dogg, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Victor Wooten, Béla Fleck, Steve Jordan and more.

In addition to the album, Collins also announced that on Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. ET, he will host the ‘Bootsy Collins Album Release Galactic Birthday Bash,’ a livestream event celebrating the album’s release. The lineup will be announced soon; tickets are available at bootsycollins.com.
