Zooey's "August in California" pic reminded me of my friend Matt Burchett, who died in California two years ago last Thursday the 13th, when a pilot from Cal Fire misjudged elevation and dropped retardant too close to the ground and hit an old tree which fell and killed him. I communicated with his dad last Thursday and they spent the night with family remembering Matt.
Had a flashback driving down to southern Utah the next day (Friday) as I drove near Provo and saw a fire truck on the freeway, bringing back the memory of the drive two years ago from SLC to Provo in a procession to bury Matt. Seriously, he was a GREAT person. And his family is still devastated. So you Californians, feel free to tip one for the ol' boy.
I didn't realize when I took the recent pic on July 16 that I was in Ventura 37 years and 364 days since the first GD Ventura shows on 7/17-18/82 which I attended. Best of times.

The Wolf is the one that was modified in '89 to play MIDI.
I don't know much about the actual technology, but I do that.....and saw him/them play a bunch of shows with it, and
