No Electricity in Jerseyland for 5 Days...

Forums:

At least here at Firewood Farm.  Rural folk get it back last.

Went out Tuesday about 11:07 AM.  The Micro-tornadoes tore down many utility poles and Large Trees.

Came back today +/- 10:56 AM.  Many roads were impassible.  So many Roads.

Fortunately no Large Trees squished my Shack or Barns.  Up the road a bit,  some major Barn and House squishing I witnessed.

I have been doing storm repair since Wednesday. Setting new  poles , removing broken poles , raising cables.  Sometimes working till three in the morning.   Hang in there.  The storm was an ass kicker.  We are doing our best to get everyone and everything back to whatever normal was.   It's not a quick process because we value our lives and each others lives.  And Jerry is still dead.  I can't fix that but it makes the overwhelmingness that much worse...

TH -- I appreciate your hard work.  A good Buddy works lineman job for one of the Power Companies.  He may be getting some OT, but I never envy his job.  Very difficult conditions.

Then again,  he mocks me for chopping Firewood with no pension or Insurance.

However,  he's not too proud to Burn the Oak and Locust in the Family Woodstove.

Despite popular mythology,  Utility Company workers get no discount on the monthly bill around here.

Hope you have a generator, Stu.

Mr. Jaz --

Actually,  I have some obsolete Homelite generators from mid-70's that aren't worth gassing up.

Some other bumnblefuck pal nearby has a Fine Generac which needs fixing-up.

It's free for parts or repair.  However,  that thing is last in line for "PROJECTS".

If he dropped off that Generac here, I would sic HÚsky upon him. H.I.M. would not attack,  but pee upon the Dead Generator.

Hüsky is not much of an attack Dog.  He likes all People and Kids,  other Canines,  but Murders Chickens.

Hang in there. I lost power for a couple of hours and was starting to get nervous for my plants growing in the tent.  All goood though.

Jay --

Glad you made it through.

I was out for about 5 days,  Tuesday through Sunday.
Not devastating,  but inconvenient.

Have to go through Refrigerator and throw away all the stuff.  Time for Fridge - cleaning anyway.
Chest Freezer will be Mostly alright.

Thanks Utility Company People,  for working on the Stuff in the Hot weather.
Those people in the Bucket trucks are actual Heroes that keep Utilities running after Bad Weather.

Good luck. My mutt murdered a down spout by strangulation.
