What is it about the Republican mind that makes them so susceptible to cons. Jerry Falwell Jr. second generation con man has to apologize for a picture of him with his arm around his wife's assistant with his zipper open. This after the whole pool boy incident. Now we have the NRA stealing their contributors money - no surprise there. The entire Trump family is just one con after another. And the Republicans just eat it up over and over again.
Whatever, they'll completely be protected by one party, barely get their hand slapped, and will not even slow pace. In fact, this will probably increase donations.
They couldn’t wait til after the election to do this? Biden would do very well to distance himself from this. “He’s coming for our Guns!”” This will motivate the GOP base more than anything they could come up with on their own. Sometimes the Democrats just can’t get out of their own way

do you mean the republican politician mind or the average conservative american mind? the gop politicians are not getting conned - they are intentionally using things like this for political power
as for the average socially conservative american...its pretty easy to be conned into things when you believe there is a magic man in the sky that needs you to worship him every sunday and cares very deeply about what you do with your penis
fiscal conservatives/libertarians i think are just holding their nose/keeping their heads in the sand thru alot of the obvious cons in order to try and move the needle more towards what they are looking for.
none of these things are exclusive to republican,s conservatives, or the gop

Ugh. My parents are part of that conservative demographic that sticks their heads in the sand and it disgusts me to no end. They're faux-Catholic (never, ever go to Church... but GOD! and thoughts and prayers!) and there's no nuisance to the gun debate (yea, but 2nd amendment! We need guns!). Gross. They're so attached to their dogmatic belief systems that they've lost all credibility to me. I'm 32 - considerably younger than most on here- and so at this point in my life I could use a role model/friend in my Dad and that notion is just laughable. I was in such a weird mood on Father's Day this year over a few things: the state of my relationship with my Dad, being a single Dad with a daughter whose mother is a totally absent alcoholic, not having time for a dating life, dealing with chronic back pain from an unresolved injury. I attempted (for the last time) to open up to my parents and shared that I feel dead inside most days and envision dying as a means of relief. That was almost two months ago now and the guy hasn't fucking reached out to me to ask how I'm doing. Total fucking BS. Sorry for the rant but I'm done with them and I think their inability to be there for me in the smallest way emotionally speaks towards their larger inability to display empathy, compassion, reason and critical thinking skills.... which is part of why they fall for all the standard conservative tropes. Fuck that! My Mother at least makes an attempt- my Father- HA.

Hahaha, it serves them right for giving money to an organization headed by such an obviously greasy scumbag like LaPierre.
What a shock.
