August Music

Forums:

I can't believe it's already August. This is what is on my turntable this morning. I am really digging the Jimmy Smith live record. I will have to pick up more of his music.

'FUV is playing a bunch of old Newport Folk Fest clips.  Bluegrass time at the moment.  Started with Doc. Then Del.  Heading toward Billy Strings, I think.

Lots of JGB.   I have also been enjoying summer 1990 tour again. They should release that whole tour as a box set, like Spring 90.  The recent showing of several of the shows from that tour, Buffalo, Raleigh, and Tinley Park, on the Shakedown Stream reminded me of how great that tour was.  They clearly have video and excellent audio from all of it.  I forgot most of that first night from Tinley, until they showed it last week (I think it was last week).  However, seeing it again, I thought it was very good to excellent.  It was  just dwarfed by other/hotter shows (to me) on that tour, such as Deer Creek and Foxboro.

Brandy Clark - Get High  (missed this one for the last six years?)

Lots of GD and Jerry, including the whole of All Good Things.

A lot of stuff featuring my late friend, Bob ("Hawke") Morffi, including "The Mill", written by George Fox and performed by Big Stoner Creek:

Bob's fiddle is killer on this.  Might be my fave track of his collected output.  Hoping there's still more out there.

Also caught up on Richard Thompson's "Quarantine" streams; and still playing the F out of the new(ish) Cindy Cashdollar CD, which has a stellar guest list.
