I think I have a few terrible pics somewhere. Maybe post later? Lived in a car for the German part of the tour. Went to Munich and Austria one day. and Auschwitz another.
I was fortunate to have caught the whole Europe tour. I was able to score tickets through the official Grateful Dead package which included flights, great seats to every show and a Eurorail Pass. I have a long city by city recap I put together in a journal on the train rides between shows, I need to dig it out of storage. Stockholm was tough to watch but so many great stories and great music.
If by chance Craig C. who I met at the TWA terminal check in for the flight to Stockholm reads this, It would be great to connect.
We slept in the free car we got for flying Iceland Air most of the German tour except for Frankfurt where we got a small shitty room for $80. Germany was great because at truck stops we would eat in the restaurant and then ask for the key to the showers which were free. A nice hot shower in pretty nice private showers. Spent a week in Amsterdam and then a week seeing the GD in Germany. Berlin was best. Frankfurt was weakest IMO, but all were epic.
I'm sure Jerry had Russian and Chinese if you go far back like us all. Doubt he gave a shit about ancestry but about putting on a good performance. I have like you all have, not pure blood. Were all mixed so to pledge allegiance to one place is stoopid. I'm an Earthling. Nothing else.
6 songs never repeated. I'd say that show was special. But always thought it was the best from tapes. Is there any shows after Germany that had breakouts?
Stander On A Mountain was very good and a break out on 10/28 in Paris.. I was at Berlin and Paris and liked Paris a wee bit more although Berlin was awesome. Dunkel Stern
was asked for a breakout that the was first time the gd ever played Stander On A Mountain. 10/27 was excellent! Really good energy and the St. of Circumstance was really good.
Paris and London would have been cool but decided on a week of shows so Germany was the best option and a week in Amsterdam. Valley Road in Frankfurt was a first timer. Has more pep than Stander as a set closer.

Jerry was of Swedish heritage through his mom's side of the family. I bet he was embarrassed about flailing in Stockholm.
