Murder In The Front Row

Forums:

I watched this documentary last night. I have had the book for a couple years and was not aware they had made a documentary as well. This one is not bad if you like the bay area 80's metal scene. The book is pretty cool. A couple of guys who took their cameras to the shows.

Speaking of 1980's Bay Area thrash metal, I heard somewhere that Kirk Hammett was a Deadhead, but never saw anything to support that theory.   Anybody know if Kirk used to go to Dead shows?

Every Bay Area musician I hear interviewed says they hit up some Dead shows as a teenager. Kirk probably ended up at a few Berkeley shows. Maybe with Les.

When I ever read Helter Skelter I was shocked to learn Charles Manson was in with the likes of Dennis Wilson, and knew other noteworthy musicians.

- Charles Manson formed a strange and brief relationship with The Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson during the summer of 1968. The Manson "family" moved into Wilson's home that summer, where they all dropped acid and participated in group sex -

Anyone know what ol Charlie thought of the Dead ?

Manson was "reborn" writhing around the floor of a Grateful Dead show in SF high on acid shortly after getting out of prison.   Records show it may have been at the Avalon Ballroom on 3/26/67.

Dammm, so of all the horror stories we used to hear in our youth about what may become of you if you ever go to a grateful dead concert, one finally came true. Fuckin Charlie

And here I thought this was another thread about rail riders!
