"Bulgarian-born artist Christo, best known for wrapping buildings and famous landmarks in fabric or plastic, has died at his home in New York, aged 84."
Not my pic, but the site where he placed these is about 5 miles from my place. Tejon Ranch still has one of the umbrellas standing at their headquarters.
Is that the guy and his wife who draped Central Park with miles of arches with red fabric? If so he got a lot of criticism for spending millions on it and not giving to the poor. Must have been cool experience riding a bike through it on acid. I lived in NJ an hour and half train trip from NYC but never went to see it.

I have loved his (and his late wife's) work forever. It moves me. They got me.
Buildings, famous landmarks, islands, so many creative and beautiful pieces of art. Love it.

My very favorite work by Christo were the wrapped trees... and the walking on water installation ^^^^^ a close second.
Wonder who will be the next artists who create on a similar scale?
