Very raw and energized versions of Sonny Boy Williamson's "Don't Start Me Talking", and rearranged versions of "License To Kill" and "Jokerman" from his then recently released "Infidels" LP.  He's backed by the rhythm section from the L.A. Latino Punk band The Plugz, and their friend, guitarist J.J. Holiday.  Considering the performance they drew out of Dylan that night it's both odd and unfortunate they never played together again.

This YouTube clip has the sound check first, and then the show performance starting around 17 minutes in:

Some of you might remember The Plugz from their strong work on the soundtrack to the 1984 film "Repo Man":

"El Clavo Y La Cruz" with guest Steve Berlin (of The Blasters and Los Lobos) on sax.

Looks like three Minneapolis cops got their license to kill taken away.  Hopefully, they go to jail next.

Make that four cops fired over the murder of George Floyd.  Lock 'em up.

In case anyone's interested, the actual show performance starts at the 19 minute mark on the YouTube clip.  I just watched it again, and it gets better with every viewing.  Those Punk rock dudes lit a fire under Bob.

Letterman was baby-faced and just coming into his own then.  Bob would return to his show periodically through the years, and was Letterman's final musical guest.  There was obviously a lot of mutual respect;

Fascinating read there on Zimmy- thanks, Dave.
