Expect many more suspicious fires as restaurants are going out of business and going for the insurance pay outs. Restaurant fires always seem to hit struggling establishments..
They saved the WWII vessel docked there, and are saying the main loss is a warehouse containing a bunch of fishing equipment, which sounds, ummm, a little fishy.
The warehouses that burned are where the actual fishermen & fishing companies are located and where they store all their gear, crab traps, nets, etc. - the actual working Fisherman's Wharf - so it's a serious bummer.
Suspicious? Absolutely could be, but still a bummer.
The Musée Mécanique was saved, thank goodness. All that stuff has been special to me since I was a little kid when it was at the Cliff House, and is the main reason I still go to Fisherman's Wharf.

I suppose they have Fire
I suppose they have Fire-Boats handy for that type of scene, pumping water out of the Bay. Did they say what kind of stuff caught on fire?
If they store Chemicals out there, it's got to be a huge Environmental concern.

Just confirmed by looking at
Just confirmed by looking at the map, pretty close to many of the tourist trap restaurants there, but not close enough to burn them all down.
(hmmm, that may have come out wrong).
Fire boats were involved, and a WW 2 ship used as a museum was saved.
No word yet on what was in the torched warehouse(s).
