FBI Seizes Phone of Senator Suspected of Insider Trading

Honestly, my suspicion is that Trump runs the GOP such that everyone is allowed to crime, so long as they don't cross him. That's how he ran his campaign too. The big Q is--how did Burr cross him and is that why Burr is so anxious for a quick declassification of SSCI's report?

lock 'em up!

Have to agree but this would never have happened to Lindsey Graham under the same circumstances. We now have a fully politicized DOJ that selectively goes after people who are not loyal to the President.

Another comment on Reddit sums it up:

It's trump's pay-back to Burr. Burr's committee agreed with the Mueller report.

I heard someone from the administration excusing Loeffler's behavior today.

Burr's toast, so is any other R

*Surprise, surprise. Look who's behind it. The Federalist!

Insider Trading Scandal Is Just Latest Reason Burr Should Be Removed As Intel Chair

Oppressor victimization. So hot right now.

Once they run Burr off because he put his name on the intelligence report (which isn't the final product)

that said Russia had interfered in our election to help the orange fuckstick win.

NC is 1 of only 4 states that the sitting governor regardless of party affiliation, has to replace in this

case, a corrupt republican senator with another republican without a special election.

NC governor Roy Cooper is a democrat.

So Burr's seat will remain republican through 2022

If they push him off the chair of the intel committee...

Moscow bitch Mcturtle can replace him with somebody that can bury the report.

Theoretically, could the governor replace him with a RINO, or delay by not appointing at all?

Additionally, I guess I’m wondering in NC; who decides who a republican (legally) is or isn’t? Self-declaration/voter registry, The governor? The state GOP? The legislature?

A cursory glance says the person only has to be of the same party, not approved by the party.

I am not completely familiar with the specifics or state-level laws and processes....but is, for example, the D Governor of NC required (or possibly even involved?) to replace a US Senator with an R or is there always a special election to get a candidate to cover the duration of that current term? It seems increasingly clear that MCConnell is in a shell game in efforts to hang on as leader (or possibly even KY Senator?!?!), worried that KS will require a fight and large spending. Sounds like they are still tryibg to find a way to get Pompeo back there to run for Senate as Kobach is toxic.

States decide for themselves how one becomes a senator. House representatives must be elected, according to the constitution. That’s about all I know on that. Certainly there are lots of smarter zoners than me.

Yes, he could replace him with a RINO, he could put in a never trumper if he wants.

Yes

Strawbud - No special election

Sole discretion of the governor, but has to be of the same party of the departing senator.

A few party change registrations probably happening right now in NC I would think, if that’s allowed at this moment.

I spent a week at the Howard johnson’s in Dunn, NC once while having a blown up engine repaired. Seemed like a lifetime. Shoney’s Buffet was a long walk, but the owner; Mr Gunnar Henderson gave me a ride to and from. Very nice man.

He's a republican, Barr will get him off. So sad

Burr just stepped down as senate intel committee chairman 15 minutes ago.

Just some more cannibal rats.

I love trump

Good he is a Scumbag too.

lock 'em up! <<<

Exatamundo Turtle !

Feinstein the Democratic dinosaur is also being investigated by the FBI for insider trading.

They all suck.  Time for a third party.

^ anyone with the audacity to stand up to der fuhrer is in the crosshairs, especially a repub.

Burr, did you really expect to skate after giving the thumbs up to the Mueller report ?

Any dem should not sleep well with mr vendetta totally in charge of the dept of justice.
