Beach cops suck.

The worst beach cops I have experienced are in the City of St. Augustine Beach, Fla..  Great beaches but the cops suck and will hassle you for any little thing. For underage drinking, you would have to bury a big gulp cup full of beer with a lid and straw just under the sand and drink from the straw.  Otherwise, you had to stick cans of beer in your wetsuit and drink beer out on your board.  The cops, especially one guy named Russo, were ruthless and would bust up any party before it got started. I got ticketed at least three times for speeding, people hanging off the car, and having surfboards stored the wrong way.

There were a couple spots on the beach you could party, but you needed 4X4 and had to drive a long way to get there.

Pinellas County beaches open tomorrow, and I'll be there (on my bike) to see how it all goes. I'm sure there will be police presence, but from what I've noticed the last few weeks, you have to be a real dumbass to get bothered by them, to their credit.

However, we do have a few less-than-guru's around here.

PS "Beach cops" job is to keep it "family friendly", if you will. It's simple: no alcohol, which isn't a bad thing. There's plenty of beach bars for that.

Grim Reaper on the beach to remind people about coronavirus.

Checking ID's in Martin County. If not from this county well no beach for you.

Our 3 major open beach access had 4 feds per beach. 12 cop cars to check to see if someone from another county happens to go to the shore.

Anyone else see a problem with this?

Need a good job of you want to live close to the beach.

Depends on which beach.   Up here in the PNW, there are a lot of economically depressed blue collar towns on the ocean where you can find relatively inexpensive real property.

Martin Fierro, on why so many hippies moved to the PNW: "Because there's no work there."

Cops on The Beaches - Sharks in the Water.

I guess it isn't that unusual for sharks to cruise the coastline south of Santa Cruz this time of year, but there have been dozens seen in the past week or so within feet of the beaches, and a well-known surfer & surfboard maker was killed by a shark yesterday at Sand dollar Beach near Watsonville.

It seems that this just isn't a good time to be anywhere near a beach.
