Regardless of conspiracy, they are desperately trying to push a human tracking agenda through all of this pandemonium without a doubt. There is no evidence human tracking has done anything for prevention besides put a bandaid on top of a bandage. I've seen pro tracking articles that offer no evidence it's done anything so far. It is a potential trillion dollar opportunity though for Bill Gates and there is no doubt about that.

i havent done any fact checking on that video, and am not trying to say its real or not real, but i will say that the 25ish min video is almost entirely the same narrative that alex jones is presenting everyday during his coronavirus era broadcasts...like almost point for point, exactly the same narrative as alex jones has been proposing for weeks. id recommend taking this with a big old grain of salt and perhaps a few thinly sliced, marinaded filets of neighbor.

More than anything, I was wondering about the point that the 2 doctors were making at the 18-20 minute mark. The longer we are in isolation, making sure that we have no contact with any bacteria, the more prone we will be to get sick from anything out there. They postulate that a lot of people will get very ill once they come out of lockdown. I had been wondering about that, and perhaps there's some truth to it. Any scientists have any light to shed?

^That is a great point that a healthy immune system is actually constantly fighting bacteria. That's basic fundamental knowledge on human immune systems Another good point is that ventilators were absolutely killing people. The environment hasn't changed that much except for novel Corona. They might catch the new seasonal cold if they haven't been vaccinated, but they won't lose their longterm immunity (e.g. to the measles or polio) if they had that immunity. 

With less air pollution, it could even be argued that they will be healthier.

obviously im not a scientist but my rural deep country lifestyle is pretty similar to quarantine - my life has barely changed at  all. i go to town just as often, go to just as many places, really the only thing thats changed is if i have to go down to the bay to see my folks i dont stay the night, and i havent seen any concerts - usually by this time ive gone to 3 or so. but all in all im following SIP orders just as good as anybody - and mostly that's just how my life is anyways.  

so generally, aside from a very small handful of overnight trips to the bay area, and a few concerts, my normal life last year was pretty close to being lived under SIP orders, and im fine. get a mild chest thing once a year in late fall/early winter, usually brought on by all the particulate involved in cannabis harvest, and that's my only illness all year - been that way for almost 10 years. if 6-9 months of minimal conteact with other humans was enough to fuck up your immune system, id be dead by now. 

There is of course a theory that infants and youngsters need exposure to a certain amount of "germs" to prime their immune systems. So "germ-free" environments are maybe not optimal for the very young -- but most homes with people and pets have plenty. And there's lots of tiny bad stuff in the air and water -- but we've evolved over thousands and thousands and thousands  of years to deal with most of it.

Now a new virus (like smallpox) introduced to a population with no innate immunity -- disaster -- just ask the Native Americans.

While a vaccination sounds good in theory the fact is there's no reason to believe that we are capable of a vaccination for this virus. In fact, we have never had any success with flu vaccines. Actually we have had abysmal failures with them. Now all of a sudden we are trying to rush this miracle vaccine when we've been working for years on one and never had any consistent track record of success but a long one of failure. I'd say be careful to those who line up for the first round.

Also - she is NOT an expert on coronavirus - yet people are just buying her story because "it sounds like it might be true".

Wonder how much money the repubs are laying out to folks like this to dredge up just about anything to throw confusion into the mix and parading out people of questionable character?

Got my flu vaccine in Nov., as I always do for the last few years. Almost died from the flu a few years ago and now I always get shot up - haven't had the flu since.

The flu vaccine is interesting. First off, most people don't get the flu more than a few times in their lives. People like to call a 24 hour bug or the stomach bug "the flu," but they aren't. When one has had the real deal, they know the difference. I've had the flu once, and I'm 51.

I get the flu vaccine on occasion. I know that it works, but there's a condition to that. It has to be the vaccine for the active strain. That's a guessing game. I guess there's some evidence that the vaccine for the wrong strain will lessen the intensity and duration of the active strain.

A few years ago, with some students, I was doing some research into the efficacy of the vaccine. We came across a video, maybe Khan  Academy, that took the scientific data and did the math. It came out to be 70% effective, whatever that means.

My understanding is the flu vaccines' effectiveness changes year to year.  So one year it may be 90% effective and the next 15% just depending on how well they can align with the strain that is going to hit.

You are correct. The hope is that SARS-CoV-2 mutates very slowly, but as Jazfish points out, it has already mutated from the original virus seen in Wuhan. 

One can only hope for an eventual less virulent mutation, ala Andromeda Strain.

Here are the numbers from the CDC. How can they claim success in 2017? 80k dead? Is that a success? Brian k has no real source and the validity of a "70% success rate" is more or less just a devious meaningless statistic when that many people die in one year from the flu. How are they confident that a vaccine will do anything more than what they created three years ago? Especially if rushed? And this virus is more deadly? You can look at the numbers but I say again we do not have any consisten track record of success with flu vaccines.

You're right, I questioned the data and I still do. The CDC website explains how they come up with the data, but it seems a bit hokey. Their graphic, showing effectiveness rates from 2004-2018 gives a range of 10% (2004-5) to a high of 60% (2010-11) most years are in the 40-50% range. That 70% I remember isn't even close.

It begs the question: is it worth taking a flu vaccine if there's a 50% chance it will work? If I was more convinced I'd get it every year. I'm not convinced, and seeing as how I've only had the flu once, it isn't that big a deal. Let's say they get a Covid vaccine that's also 50%. If the virus is much more contagious than the flu, it may be a better bet to get the vaccine.

the best book or piece of journalism on conspiracy, imo, is the book "Them: Adventures with Extremists" by Jon Ronson.

Jon starts the book out intending to just follow around extremists and write about them - the book starts with him following omar bakari, a militant islamist who lived in london, supported sharia law, al queda, hamas, hezbollah, etc etc etc...it was written in 2000, so pre 9-11, and this chapter has a really lighthearted tone you would never hear this subject discussed in after 9-11.

then he goes and visits rachel weaver, randy weaver's daughter, and meets randy weaver of ruby ridge fame. he then travels to waco with randy weaver, and meets alex jones at the site of the old branch dividian church, where jones is helping ot rebuild the church.

ronson begins to notice a common thread among all these extremists - they all believe a small group of powerful elite is running the world from a secret room. 

he goes and spends months with skinhead groups, and the KKK, still noticing they all are discussing things like the bilderberg group, the new world order, etc etc.

he meets a guy named big jim tucker who runs an antisemetic conspiracy newspaper called the spotlight - he is big into the bilderberg group and has learned of the location where the bilderberg meeting was supposed to be held that year. He and ronson go to the hotel, and are intimidated in some pretty strange ways by some pretty strange characters. later in the book he gets some interviews with actual bilderbergers, who explain some of what goes on in the bilderberg meetings and the reasons for all the secrecy.

then he learns about the bohemian grove conspiracy, the summer camp of the new world order where they practice pagan rituals and make sacrafices to the owl god Moloch.

this thread is a great example of the futility of censorship - when the video kept being taken down, it seemed verboten, some of the folks who had seen it seem like they could be convinced, and all the posts were either in support of the video, or acknowledging that the video may be true.

once the video began to be reposted enough, by enough people, that all of us who wanted to watch were able to watch, and we began freely exchanging information, everything from mainstream news sources to outright anti-vax conspiracy sources, the hemming and hawing, the maybes and perhapses fell away to a pretty large degree, leaving an overwhelming majority of reasonable, logical people coming to evidence based conclusions, punctuated by a very small, loud and vocal minority, screaming and ranting about globalists and 5G, using their volume(or in this case font size) to give the impression that small minority of gullible, angry folks is actually much larger and more powerful than it really is.
