Howie Hawkins

Forums:

So it looks like the presumpative nominee for the Green Party is some dude named Howie Hawkins.  I like his "eco-socialist'" platform, but guy apparently has a 0-23 winning streak in local and statewide elections:

Jesus folks, why is the 2020 campaign filled with such losers?

How many green party members have a winning electoral record?

"why is the 2020 campaign filled with such losers?"

Because we live in an age of mediocrity. If you're waiting for a political savior, you're going to end up disappointed.

when did the enlightenment end?

This is the reason you’re allowed to post here.

I guess my gripe is not so much a history of winning elections, but has more to do with having a track record of professional accomplishments.   Ralph Nader, for example, was the driving force behind many important consumer protection laws and had appeared on the covers of Time and Newsweek.  Even kooky Jill Stein was a respected physician who had served on the town council and the boards of prominent environmental organizations.   This dude, by contrast, doesn't have anywhere near that level of experience and, having spent much of his life running for political office (and losing), doesn't bring much "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" populist charisma.   Just disappointed that the Greens can't field anyone who has a chance of winning over anyone beyond the hard core base.

Who are the libertarians running this year?    At least they had the good sense to run a former state governor last time around.

C'mon ,man, of all folks you typed that, Thom.

Yup. For the main parties we have the last loser standing versus the loser-in-chief.

This election is strictly about removing the guy who suggested that injecting disinfectants might cure covid19

what was the last election about?

^Anti establishment populism and xenophobia

lmk when's there's an election about actually changing corporate rule and helping the people that make this shit work.

A second term for Trump and you will never need to worry about that happening.

That can partially explain how a man with no previous experience working in government on any level became President of the United States.
