was a good article.

david mentions making music wih a seqeuncer/electronic.

some little birdie let me listen to impressionist two-step electronic version that david had shared with him. was actually pretty good.

nobody and i mean nobody plays a Strat like David.

David and strat indeed! Like PBJ

not to hijack,  but to augment the Palo Alto scene and dead connections back then

I hope I haven't posted this before

my  best friends we're in the band Osiris (practiced in the Mckernan's garage --  and one of my best friends / that I saw Cream with on his 16th birthday / promoted the sparsely attended kingfish NYE show). That night my friend Kevin did a hard to handle that chris Robinson could only dream of approximating !

I Also went to the homers warehouse old and in the way show also caught some pre and early NRPS stuff and the Osiris opening for JGB on Halloween referenced in the article,  and  also my baptism of the dead in 1967 at El Camino ball park that was called out

ahhh to be young again.  Most everyone loves and appreciates their teenage and early 20's - I sure as hell do

you all have a great day.  Be creative and do something new or do something comfortable that makes you smile

I have heard that story broken up into several smaller stories many times, but never  altogether like that.  Good short read.  Thanx Judit.

Does Dave still play Long Gone Sam?  I love that song!

nelson doesn't play a strat...

and yes he still does long gone sam.

TELECASTER

David has never. played. a. strat.

and it’s one in ten thousand that come for the show

Nice read.

I believe Bill Kirchen is the acknowledged "master of the telecaster".

Albert Collins is the “Master of the Telecaster”.

Roy Buchanan is the “Telemaster”

edit

Danny Gatton is also known as the “Telemaster”, Roy had an album with this name.

Well, since Danny, Albert and Roy have gone on to Tele-heaven, that leaves Bill.

Okay fair enough

technically it's not a fender either and is a B-bender. i forget the custom make

As I was writing or soon after I wanted to comment / correct myself that he is the master of the b bender tele variant

at least as far as I know

I am fairly certain david’s blonde Tele is a 1968 fender body with a parsons bender (installed by jay Rhine in Atlanta, not sure of year) and a vintiques neck. I haven’t asked him about the tobacco sunburst Tele, and don’t know anything about its history. He may own more than these two, I don’t know, but never seen him play any other electrics than these. Mark might know. Toast might.
