And yes you do need to open the link and provide direct deposit banking info even if you've PAID the IRS via direct deposit. The money will only show up in your account if the IRS issued you a refund this year and/or last.

I read somewhere that if you got a tax refund direct deposited for 2018 or 2019, the IRS will deposit the $1200. I don't think you have to have filed 2019 yet.

We have direct deposit with the IRS, but because we had to pay additional taxes the last two years we have to do more paperwork to get ours. It was not even a large amount and neither of us are self employed or 1099 oh well
