If you're not familiar with his work, I'd suggest starting with his Disney tribute Stay Awake, which despite having the likes of Tom awaits and Sun Ra contributing, is one of his most accessible works.
The man had a genius for putting together the most oddball collection of talent and making it work.

"Stay Awake" is one of those
"Stay Awake" is one of those collections that my (future) wife and I listened to constantly when it was first released.
I recently gave the "disc" another spin before converting it into a file onto my external hard drive.

Lost in the Stars, one of his tributes to Kurt Weill's music comes to mind, but they're all pretty good. Weird Nightmare and the Mingus tribute are a little more obtuse but pay off with repeated listening.
