When I go walking, it seems like there's always a few heavy breathing joggers who run by a lot closer than 6 feet. It seems hazardous and has me seeking less populated trails.
I think it's pretty clear that the problem isn't the surfers, but if the beaches are open to surfers they're open for everyone, and that's when the problems begin because apparently lots of people just aren't getting how serious this is.
The beaches in the BA were packed last weekend and I think that was the case up & down the coast, and it wasn't just the beaches but parks and other public gathering places.
This is deadly serious business. Sacrifices have to be made, which means maybe the surfers have to take a few weeks off.
Let's all just stay home/stay close to home and get past this thing. The beaches will still be there.
In OR most of the beaches are open but the state parks, which include most of the coastal access points, are closed. If you can get to the beach you're OK, but getting there is problematic unless you live on the beach.
Coronavirus at beaches? Surfers, swimmers should stay away, scientist says
Kim Prather, a leading atmospheric chemist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, wants to yell out her window at every surfer, runner, and biker she spots along the San Diego coast.
“I wouldn't go in the water if you paid me $1 million right now,” she said.

Regular folks stuck at home hate seeing surfers having fun, even if they are surfing by themselves.
Jogging or walking is fine though....

I have not been surfing this
I have not been surfing this week as a show of support for those that can't surf.
Don't want anyone to get sick and die, that's for sure.

Nobody is in the closed skatepark because most people aren't radical like me so why do I have to walk on a crowded path? I want to skate or die, man!
