Just watched this documentary.
I remember when this happened. I did not pay a lot of attention at the time. Wrote it off as crazy right-wing militia types. Cause that is what I had heard on the TV and internet.
This is an alternate version.
Anybody seen it? If so, what is your take?

I haven't. But looking at it
I haven't. But looking at it now, I know I'd be real interested. But the reviews suggest I not expect much. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6806974/reviews?ref_=tt_urv
I took an interest in the takeover. I challenged Ryan Bundy about grazing fees at his trial in Vegas and took over the duck pond at a local park to ridicule them. They hold a special place in my heart.

Movie description
The documentary chronicles the ongoing fight for land rights in the Western United States and the conflicts that led to the Malheur Standoff. This is the personal story of the Hammonds, an Oregon ranching family whose twenty year fight with government agencies led to their controversial trial and conviction on an anti-terrorism charge. American Standoff tells a story as tragic and incredible as the West itself.
Thanks for the head's up, Mark.

Looks like the BLM might have screwed over Dwight Hammond, but I am sure there was much more to it than the doc presents.

Yeah, Mark I was gonna ask
Yeah, Mark I was gonna ask you what you thought but I turned off my comp last night before doing so.
My understanding was the Hammonds were poaching and to cover some of that up, they lit fires illegally.
I can understand why the landlord might not like the renters treating their property this way and cancelling the lease.
I'm also under the impression when the Bundyciples showed up, the Hammonds told them to go away. But they didn't.
I'll e-mail you sometime today. Gotta get to work - remotely.

Yeah, not a fan of the bundys
Yeah, not a fan of the bundys. Pretty sure they were at major fault.
The Hammonds explain those fires differently.

Reading Christopher Ketchum's
Reading Christopher Ketchum's This Land How cowboys, capitalism and corruption are ruining the American West. Excellent read. Bundys and Hammonds suck.
Our tax dollars are funding illegal land use.
