Chile's already declared a "State of Constitutional Exception due to Catastrophe". No constitutional rights anymore. Curfew from 22:00 to 5:00 already. Military presence in the three municipalities of Santiago with the most cases (mine included). 

Martial law is now, pretty much, for me.

Mich Governor (D) just issued 'stay at home' order. She said we only have 25,000 acute care beds right now in Michigan. She couldn't do it without blaming trump, of course...playing partisan politics, towing the fucking line. People here just loooove that. She just handed him the state. Florida is setting up roadblocks to identify folks coming from New Orleans 

 

Florida is setting up highway checkpoints to try and stop travelers from Louisiana who could be carrying the new coronavirus.

Like New Orleans, Florida’s Panhandle is on the Gulf Coast. Because of that proximity, local officials asked for help, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said Friday in a briefing in Tallahassee.

“We will be authorizing the use of the checkpoints on highways coming into Florida,” DeSantis said. “New Orleans obviously has got a lot of problems. There was a concern in the Panhandle that this could impact them.”

Executive orders issued earlier this week mandating two weeks of self-isolation for travelers from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut coming into Florida were expanded to include people from Louisiana.

Law enforcement will be looking for out-of-state license plates and “If you blow through the checkpoint, they’ll be able to pull you over,” DeSantis said.

I approached a cop sitting in his car on a local trail - wanted to make sure it was open - and even kept 6 feet away, but he only cracked his window to respond. He was just there to show a 'presence' he said  and clearly and no intentions of enforcing anything 

 

Still enforcing traffic laws in Jersey, I've seen several people pulled over this week.

I think they said they had given out a bunch to people going over 100 because the freeways are so wide open.

Cops don't like that, and in a lot of places they'll throw you in jail for a night if they get you going more than 100.

I found myself doing 85 with no one around me yesterday on 101, so brought it back down to about 70.

No cops around though...
