Hey Slick, hang in there. It is unfortunate that we never officially met up while I lived there but stay well and diligent.....someone may have to remind some of those locals that what is commonly known as, uh, "East", is the direction to which their attention apparently needs to be focused for the 2nd (or 3rd?) coming, should their golden guide be down for what will likely a short while. Ha! That shit will probably be fixed before the gas & water lines at the airport.
People rarely associate the word "normal" with "Utah", but as far as seismology, that's a big one, especially so close to the Salt Lake population center.
There was a 5.8 quake near Zion National Park in 1992.
The strongest earthquake to hit Utah in 28 years rocked the state just after 7 a.m. Wednesday. The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported the 5.7 magnitude quake hit just northeast of Magna about 7:09 a.m.
A second 3.7 magnitude aftershock hit about 7:15 a.m., according to the USGS, and another 3.5 magnitude aftershock hit shortly thereafter. Dozens of aftershocks happened throughout the day, the largest being a 4.6 magnitude that hit shortly after 1 p.m.
*****************************
I heard someone say there were over 90 aftershocks during the day.
But he had a MAGA hat on so I know he's an ass. Relax, just kidding. It's humor. Like the "match" line above. I'm here all week.

Cancelled work for the day.
Cancelled work for the day. Some aftershocks and tremors. I lit a match and went down into the basement to check for gas leaks. Nothing.
No cracks in the wall and no busted water pipes. Doing OK here, just like another day. Power out in some parts of the city.

You should probably use a Bic lighter or propane torch if you're checking for gas leaks. Matches only last a few seconds in a drafty basement.
Be safe out there in Brigham - Land.
