Sanders Might Be Done

Forums:

Not a good night and he flew home to Vermont instead of heading to one of the next states.

lol, Racket

Thanks for your contributions Bernie, but it's Biden v. Trump 2020.

Give the Bros some time...

An honorable man who is fiercely advocating for what he feels is right for the country and it's citizens. And he's right about a lot of stuff. I voted for him in 2016.

But the Democratic Party primaries this independent chose to participate in didn't go his way. And next Tuesday doesn't look very promising either.

I hope he (and especially his supporters) can accept the results and I hope we all can unite for the absolutely critical common purpose of flushing the turd on November 3rd.

And I hope he gets a seat at the table and his ideas for reform get careful consideration and possible integration with the next administration.

Andrew yang just called on Sanders supporters to do the right thing and put 100% of their energy into making stuttering Joe our next President.

Warren tomorrow?

Do the right thing, Bernie.

every bit of energy attacking Biden after this is helping Trump.

so time for a new day.

^He will stay in until next Tuesday. Makes sense seeing how many delegates are on the table next week and he has a one on one debate vs Biden but yes it is over. Super pac folks get what they want Trump and Biden. They like a trump more though. Brace yourselves for that.

> Super pac folks get what they want Trump and Biden. <

Democratic primary voters got what they voted for.

Why is it that when Sanders wins it is because the people spoke,  but when Biden wins, and wins big, it's because of the super pacs and the democratic establishment.

The people spoke, and Biden is the preferred candidate .

>>> ^He will stay in until next Tuesday. Makes sense seeing how many delegates are on the table next week and he has a one on one debate vs Biden but yes it is over. <<<

bernie gets rolled last night and looks to get rolled harder next tuesday, but wants to debate biden,

then lose.

makes total sense.

hopefully he destroys biden on sunday.

people like lumber and thod just don't get it.

they don't think the establishment and the corporate media helped centrists and hurt bernie.

that's funny but also sad.

^ soft support from soft support, bro.

lol

I do get it and apparently a fuck ton of others do too.

Be like AOC, she already pledged to support Biden.

It's funny, people like Pyramid don't get it, a majority of Democrats do not want Sanders.

Sanders would have succeeded, if it weren't for those meddling voters

Out of touch and delusional.

yeah, stop acting like Michael Moore and be more like AOC.

Um, Biden has been getting a lot of negative press in the MSM as of late, and he still is getting the votes.

Jesus, why does it have to come down to some conspiracy? Why is it that when Biden wins is's because of super PACs and the Democratic establishment. I'd guess that 99.9% of the 838,555 Michigan voters who cast a ballot for Biden last night really don't know about any of that crap.

the Bros will continue to do them.  they aint listening to the get in line stuff.  tho Sanders himself needs to be the bigger person for the good of the party and get out of the way.  what good does it do if Sanders owns Biden in debate and Biden continues to own Sanders in the votes which is the exact trajectory we have been on since SC

understand that Sanders has lost and stop with the divisive nonsense. ts over.

the bernie movement has been exposed, the writing is on the wall.

I've never seen such devotion in droids like them bernie bros. Not to worry, if they have a shred of dignity they'll come around

q5jzveojkhwhfw.jpg

batman-fight-than-swithc-postcard_0.jpg

it's not a conspiracy.

the corporate media hates bernie -- would've been nice if he got 1/10th of the positive press coverage as the centrists. is what it is.

the current dem base will always vote to protect the establishment, even against their own interests, thinking they are voting their interests -- same as the GOP. fucking crazy.

good luck, guys. you're absolutely going to need it. badly.

bernie having to fight establishment corporate media and the rest of the dnc apparatus was a given. what's surprising is the level of vitriol, trolling and condescension coming from those who should be on the bus...

nothing like fighting the guy just trying to get people healthcare, and pounding your chest for the guy that doesn't give a fuck about getting people healthcare or saving the environment.

says a lot about you -- ned, weird steve, thod, ras, etc.

^ by trolls turtle, you know you mean America. They've spoken, open up your eyes and listen. Biden will have clinched and this thing will be over by the time Ct even votes in late April

people like ned spreading lies saying bernie will take away your healthcare and your taxes will go up w/ nothing to show for.

centrists lying to protect the establishment.

doesn't get more sad.

Butthurt crew gonna butthurt.

shameful

sad

smh

lol

again

you cheering bernie losing says more about you that me bitching he didn't.

you just look like a fool cheering against providing healthcare for all.

keep doing you tho, thod.

calling black voters corporate establishment democrats is ignorant as fuck.

keep doing you tho, P-nutz

americans always vote against their interests.

Black votes matter

I am an old white guy - but I am an old white guy who has voted for Bernie for over 30 years - as Vermont's lone Representative to the US House and as a US Senator.

I went to his Super Tuesday rally in Essex Jct., VT last week, and cheered with many old friends and family.

Then things went downhill...

Here is where I see things now. Perhaps I'm wrong, but perhaps I'm...um...not wrong.

A friend posted this this morning:

Ryan Skolnick

13 hrs

This is going to be my only post about tonight’s results. And it’s something that people who have any interest in defeating Donald Trump need to read.

Young voters hate Joe Biden.

This reality transcends every other demographic. Black. White. Latino. AAPI. Native American. LGBTQ. You name it. It’s across the board: young voters *hate* Joe Biden.

I cant disagree with him - but as much as Ryan would like to think so - it's not the whole picture:

Here is THE nutshell:

1. Young voters hate Joe Biden.

2. Older moderate independents voters in swing states are scared of Bernie.

3. We are HERE.

What happens now?

the trolling is from tasseled loafer zoners as well as the msn crowds.

i can vote for status quo joe...hopefully the swinghole voters can....

it's the perfect recipe for trump to blow out biden.

^ atta boy turt, piss on me all day all you want,  just cast a vote against trump. Thank you

Couple more days and I'll have javs moved, registering dem, n votin joe

turtle you've talked shit this whole primary season, now are crying when you get some clap back?

that's rich.

is AOC  part of the DNC conspiracy?

nobody is crying gloating tod.

you have been the biggest anti-progress zoner here. congrats on getting your guy nominated. i'm sure it'll work out great.......

Might?

>>> you have been the biggest anti-progress zoner here. congrats on getting your guy nominated. i'm sure it'll work out great.......  <<<

I voted for Warren smart guy.

I've been going hard at the berniebros shit tho.

so if that's what you mean?

guilty as charged.

i don't expect you to the know the difference.

smh

of course not, nanc.

are you that stupid?

thom is happy, his boy trump gonna send biden to the grave.

^^ but she was your girl remember?

what happened???

So those encouraging people - including  the Bernie supporters to vote for Biden in the General  aren't part of the DNC conspiracy? Cool!

Biden won the most votes, it's over for Bernie... And Trump if  we all stick together and vote. be like AOC.

To the Bernie supporters who have been extremely rude, please give this a listen and proceed accordingly.

Chicago - Hard To Say I'm Sorry

From Kevin Drum:

Beyond that, I hope that disappointed Bernie supporters take another look at Biden’s positions and come to realize that there’s less difference between the two men than it seems. Even without Republican obstruction, Medicare for All was never going to pass. A flat $15 federal minimum wage was never going to pass. Free college was never going to pass. The Green New Deal was never going to pass. A wealth tax was never going to pass. In fact, we’ll be lucky if even Biden’s versions of these things can pass.

So in practice there’s not a lot of sunlight between them. But even in theory there’s less than it seems. Biden’s health care plan is pretty good. His climate change plan is surprisingly good. He supports a $15 minimum wage. His tax plan is certainly less ambitious than Bernie’s, but it’s all in the same direction.

Donald Trump has given too many people a frighteningly good look at what a revolution looks like. For now, this is just not what most Democrats want, even if the roles are reversed. They want responsible leadership and moderate change that’s not scary. They will eventually come around to the idea of a revolution, I think, but it will take another decade or two. That’s less time than it seems

^ niiiiiice

If you want Biden then you got him until November. Enjoy. And yes democratic voters who don't want any kind of workers pay wages raised or affordable healthcare or peace got what they wanted. Trump 2020-2024 coming soon.

I hope Joe has what it takes but I can't help but feel the Democrats are putting up another obviously flawed establishment candidate- did they not learn from 2016?  Biden is significantly less articulate than Hillary and his track record and now the stuff with his song & Ukraine from the impeachment saga provide juicy ammo for Trump.

Hope isn’t a course of action.

Can only imagine what heater and timpane must be feeling right now. Months and months of puffy chest pounding guaranteeing victory while smearing and insulting anyone who didn't believe them.  Ouch. If it were me, I'd climb under a rock for a few months, reflect on my abhorrent behavior, and hope we all forgive and forget.

Just to be clear I don’t want Biden and didn’t vote for  him. But I will be voting about him in November because I care about:

Income Inequality

Abortion

Climate Change

Health Care

Gun Control

Immigration Policy

Voting Rights

Social Security

Medicade

And generally not having sociopathic narcissistic little bitch in the White House. There is a galaxy of difference between Trump and Biden on those issues alone

Trump and Biden are virtually at the same stance on climate change which is "who gives a fuck?".  And again if you're not in Michigan, Ohio, PA, or Wisconsin then your vote isn't worth a rats ass. Don't let any older prideful voter folk try and tell you any different because the facts are that these elections are not based on tallies. They grew up in an age where they believed what they were told and got completely fucked for it and they still do the same now and will get the same results.

I had to wake up at 4AM to go to work this morning, JR. Same as any other day. Was I dissappointed? Yes. Today is a different day though. I never thought Bernie would win. American politics are controlled by the most greedy and evil businesses and people in the world. It was nice to see somebody shake things up and do his best. That's all.

>>>Trump and Biden are virtually at the same stance on climate change which is "who gives a fuck?".

Sorry but that is some Fox News level bullshit. Trump thinks climate change is hoax

I never advocated for any candidate, and would have voted for Bernie if he got the nomination in order to defeat trump. My personal observations and speculations as to the temperature of the electorate were accurate. I have felt all along that this cycle was mandate on trump, period. Turns out the electorate was more concerned about defeating trump than a revolution.

It's time to band together, gang.

wow, thought you might've gave it a rest by now, but look at you go.

truly amazing to watch.

do you boo.

No Fox News. Biden has no plan for climate change at all. That's acceptable though?

Biden doesn't care about climate change at all becuaee

his sponsors are the ones who destroy

the world

Joe needs to have a serious heart to heart talk with under-40 America very soon.

because he is hated pretty much equally, from both ends of the political spectrum.

> did they not learn from 2016?<

no, they think they deserve our vote while pissing on our heads.

A non-vote for Biden is vote for Trump (in swing states). So, turtle, you go vote for anyone you want because your vote doesn't matter. Have a grate day!!

Thought this might be a Reality thread about Sanders.

I've got belt Sanders,  Random Orbital Sanders, Sanders of many different stripes.

They come in handy for many practical uses.  Politicians don't do that.  They bleed Tax Money from the peasants to enrich themselves.

Sorry,  back to your normal politician idolatry.

Biden has a $1.7 trillion plan for climate change. Trump wants to burn more coal.

>So, turtle, you go vote for anyone you want because your vote doesn't matter.<

i know this.

so tired of people that don't understand this and incessantly bash people for voting their conscience where they are able to.

any zoners here in swing-hole states that people can yell at? bucky badger, is that it?

This might be telling - I have not received an email or text from Bernie's campaign asking for money since 5:37 pm yesterday.

Normally, I get a fundraising request every few hours.   Even when Bernie was on stage at a debate, I would get a text saying:   "Hey this is Bernie, could you send me another $27?"

writings on the wall ken.

Bernie Sanders Live Press Conference, Burlington, Vermont

     https://youtu.be/NH6ZicGsaKY

He's staying in -  that's good. He should stay in for at least a couple of more weeks. You just don't know should be the motto of this century.

how do you guys get on the bernie call lists? i hear tons of folks saying they get texts, ive never gotten a single text...not that i want or need one, just curious

^^^
Make a donation to the campaign and you will get texts - lots of texts.

Never mind about what I said earlier about joe and the under-40’s. Bernie already anticipated that, and sort of preempted him.

Most people will probably just continue to vote for corporations, because lets face it - that’s who owns them.

I'd like to remind everyone that this isn't about centrists getting their way and hoping they are happy. It's about a Supreme Court that Trump could potentially stack, and would kill any progressive reforms for the next generation. Both houses of Congress could be. Although the nation is moving farther to the left, and it won't matter. The SCOTUS will be completely out of touch with the nation and will fuck it all up,

This isn't about the next 4 years and having a centrist. It's about our children and grandchildren, and a Supreme Court that will halt any progressive reforms for a generation.

Please, look at the bigger picture. If you think Biden sucks, so be it. His Supreme Court nominees won't suck, and they will make a difference for a long time.

I agree with Brian. Nothing could be more important in the long run than the Supreme Court.

With a Trump SCOTUS, in 20 years we could have President AOC, Omar as Speaker, and a far left leaning majority in Senate, and it wouldn't matter. They would kill any and every initiative that was signed into law.

oooh ok ken that makes sense - i have a fake phone number i plug into pretty much every online field that asks for it by second nature. wonder who is getting my bernie texts. maybe i should call them and apologize for all the spam ive sent their way. hopefully they got the texts and voted bernie.

probably also would help to be a registered dem i guess also - ive been registered as "no party preference" since i registered to vote at 18. had some confusion last min with my ballot due to having registered to a rando address in yuba county to vote on a cannabis measure, so rather than requesting a dem ballot and all that, i found it was easier to re register to vote as a dem so i could vote for bernie. now ive got to reregister again ASAP to remove the stain on my soul that comes with being a registered democrat.

brian, i get that and have no qualms with the point you made except that it seems like i hear it every election year. "we have to go with the safest choice and you have to vote a certian way because of the supreme court"

will there ever be a time when the supreme court is not at stake? seems like the chance to "stack the courts" is available at almost every election. will there ever be a time that the DNC establishment and its acolytes would consider safe to vote according to your convictions and not to prevent "stacking" the supreme court?

This time is different, Larry, at least in my opinion. My hope is that if Biden is the nominee, everyone will get behind him, if only for the reason I mentioned. Same goes for it Bernie is the nominee. The two new justices are farther right than the norm, and Trump will put in another 2 that are as regressive as they are.

In the scenario you describe, and provided this country still has a two party system; ultra conservative justices would be impeached and replaced.

Under what grounds could they be impeached? Unpopular constitutional rulings aren't the "bad behaviors " that are impeachable.

Good question. Depends on who is doing the "interpreting", I guess.

how do you stop a supermajority from doing anything? Start a war?

I Think TRUMP Is Toast In November ________ He Has Already Shown What An Idiot He Is and Busted His Nut ___________LATER.

Well, spoke to soon, because I just received an email from the Sanders campaign asking for more donations.

Time for Bernie to throw in the towel and endorse Joe.

so...how'd obamma do with the supreme court?

clinton?

as long as the senate is repub controlled, it really doesn't fucking matter, does it?

Now the Bernie bro's can do the right thing or be selfish, and take their ball and go home. It's really up to them at this point, just like 2016.

the dnc thinks they DESERVE our vote while doing nothing except undermining progressive principles.

and jr, to recap....it came down to a handful of states with the corrupt electoral college...so please spare the lectures.

What About Biden President and Sanders Vice President ?

TRUMP SUCKS ! I Hope He IS Toast !

biden, cough...the dnc will never let bernie become vp.

it will be a woman, probably of color.

the pandering starts now...

We get to see on Sunday what a terrible one on one debater Joe Biden is. People voting for Biden are saying we want him on a debate stage next to Trump. You sometimes get what you wish for.

>how'd obamma do with the supreme court?

clinton?<

Clinton appointed Ginsburg and Bryer

Obama appointed Sotomayor and Kagan

Which one said a POTUS can't be indicted?

Trump getting potentially 2 more Supreme Court picks would be a fucking long-term disaster. The Democratic race aside, I'd hope that it's self-explanatory as to why.

< Which one said a POTUS can't be indicted?

The dems biggest fuck-up from the whole impeachment fiasco was them not making the supreme court rule on having a trial with no witnesses. That's what sunk Nixon. That repub scumbag did exactly what todays repub scumbag does - lie and deny. And dragged it on for years till it finally hit the supreme court and they ruled ' yes we must have testimony from live witnesses '. Knowing his fate because of that decision,  nixon resigned shortly thereafter. Todays dems shamelessly folded early. That impeachment trial should still be going on.

Bernie wasn't expected to win Missouri or Mississippi or even be viable and he's getting delegates from both. He's going to get tons of delegates from Michigan. We will find out about Washington on Friday where he's expected to win. He still currently only around a hundred delegates behind and they're still over a hundred delegates left to be given out from just California (and other states he won but haven't finished handing out delegates). Not counting Colorado and Utah which we still expect to get more delegates from once they ever finish counting. Mind you this is him going up against the Republican's voting for Biden in the open primaries. It's still close. Hillary held out until June against Obama with lower numbers. Looking forward to the debate with Lord of the Handsy.

Mind you this is him going up against the Republican's voting for Biden in the open primaries. It's still close.

LOL! Republicans in open primaries are voting for Bernie. Trump would love to run against someone he can paint as a "commie"

Bernie needs to step off ASAP.

Ok Bloomberg guy.

woz has been in the cut this whole time, takin' his lumps like everybody else.

you come in here outta nowhere and start crying bloomberg guy?

get the fuck outta here with that shit.

Really.

I voted for Biden and considered anybody because I want Trump out. This country is not going to elect a "socialist" so my money is opn the old bumbling guy.

Being Practical > Being a Zealot.

Sanders is done. I love the guy and a lot of his policies. Thats why I voted for him 4 years ago, but he cant win now. I loath Biden, but will begrudgingly vote for that turd if it means getting rid of what we have now. I'm surprised he managed to dominate Sanders so convincingly in the primaries recently. Makes me think the problem people had with Clinton was that she is a woman, and thats sad as shit.

sanders has won almost every state w/ independent voters. seems important for electability against trump.

even when the majority of sanders supporters vote for biden, he'll still lose the general, by losing the coveted independent vote in the all important swing states.

the most risky pick of all is biden.

>>> even when the majority of sanders supporters vote for biden, he'll still lose the general.

then you can sleep well at night, right?

he's gonna get rolled,

it was fun...

now let's get to work.

lots of states and delegates left, thod.

you still wish warren was running b/c 31 states hahahaha.

lots of fight left. tight race.

Warren's gonna be effective for the future.

bernie is gonna be "at best" a bumper sticker on a 2016 subaru.

wow.

thanks for deciding ol bern's fate bro.

smh

Bernie bro prognosticators have lost all credibility.

     greetings & salutations,

Allow me to state the obvious for those too busy with their day to day routine to pay adequate attention to the current political brinksmanship, or lack thereof...THE POWERS THAT BE IN THE DEMOCRATIC HIERARCHY ARE MAKING A CONSCIOUS DECISION TO THROW THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION!!!!!!!!!!!

They would rather lose in a landslide with Biden and perhaps maintain the existence of the party for 2024 than lose in a landslide with Sanders and quite possibly witness the end of the party altogether.

We'll now return to our regular programming,...

< lots of fight left. tight race.

Would you happen to be in the market for a bridge ?

thod lol. got nothing.

hey at least bernie speaking the truth about biden's record is good. somebody has to.

Biden could def fuck up this Sunday for sure. Up until South Carolina he had been making an ass out of himself in very debate.

y'all should watch bernie's address yesterday afternoon. whether you like him or not.

it's quite honest.

the polls show it, people love bernie's policy nationwide, but he's losing the electability contest.

biden must address the issue that people in their 20s/30s/40s, where bernie is winning large, and biden has very little support, want answers for their future -- something biden doesn't offer.

sunday will be fierce, as it should be.

funny how it takes a crisis for everybody to see bernie is right.

m4a would be kinda nice right now.

the entire country agrees.

biden couldn't even respond to corona w/ a coherent plan, like bernie has.

biden gonna tank in the coming weeks.

^ I'm gonna guess you didn't watch one second on Biden's speech.

Florida doesn't appear to be feelin' the bern

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Refused To Campaign More For Bernie Sanders

The popular New York lawmaker’s absence was notable as Sanders lost his Democratic front-runner status to Joe Biden.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) turned down repeated requests from Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign to appear at events promoting the Vermont senator’s candidacy in recent weeks, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

Of course OGKB didn't watch the speech. It was on MSM, so it must be fake.

Sure thing, bud, only Bernie has a plan. Did you hear that on Democracy Now? I doubt it. All you do is regurgitate crap from alt left propaganda.

C'mon dude, get a fucking grip.

but he's losing the electability contest.

Translation: He's losing the election......

I mean I;ve seen all kinds of political spin in my life but this one is up near the top.....

well with zoners like youz guyz, who needs msnbc?

>We will find out about Washington on Friday where he's expected to win<

Bad news for Sanders.

Biden won Washington by a little over 27,000 votes. Biden also is receiving at least 162 delegates from California. Sanders gets at least 210, with 43 remaining.

Sanders will get the majority of the delegates from Colorado and Utah.

Ah someone needs a Kleenex.

I hate to say it but:

Tod - 13

P heat - 2

Damn, Biden's margin of victory has increased from what I saw yesterday.

Biden wins endorsement from NEA, nation’s largest union

The nation’s largest labor union has lined up behind Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, with the National Education Association on Saturday endorsing the former vice president for the Democratic nomination over his last remaining primary rival Bernie Sanders.

The NEA’s board of directors chose Biden following a recommendation from the organization’s political action committee board, following months of surveying the organization’s 3 million members and multiple presidential candidate forums held around the country.

https://apnews.com/74eb4773c34cebb24fe61a3e4b8dec6a

But I was told only Bernie cares about the working class?

Biden doesn't give a shit about the working class. He just wants their endorsement.

He just wants your vote, timpy.

Do the right thing!

^When you're right, your right Ned. Unfortunately by the time this whole pandemic has gone its course, Biden won't even remember that he is still running for President.

crying...
