Apparently, Genesis has reformed, at least the Collins, Rutherford, Banks line-up. No Peter Gabriel or Steve Hackett though. As Phil Collins had said his back problems were ending his career a couple of years ago, this is a bit of a surprise:

Who would expect Peter
Who would expect Peter Gabriel or Steve Hackett to be in any reformation of Genesis?
No Daryl Stuermer would be a surprise, and I would imagine that Collins won't play the drums, but the money would certainly be there if they go on the road.
Genesis was real good for quite a while after Gabriel & Hackett left the band, but I wouldn't expect this to be the "good" Genesis as much as the late-era pop Genesis.

Agreed that this was clearly
Agreed that this was clearly just going to be the mega-commercial 80's and onward Genesis. The Jambands article had the Gabriel reference in their headline.
Wonder if they still have the draw to fill sheds and arenas? They haven't played in 13 years.
Sounds like Phil's son may play drums while the old man sings.
If Teejay was still around, he'd have the lowdown.

With the corona virus, I'm guessing you can probably get a ticket to "Cruise to the Edge".

My cousin has been going on this regularly; and not to upstage Thom, apparently he's friendly with Steve Hackett.

I enjoy earlier pre-pop
I enjoy earlier pre-pop Genesis stuff. Last decent one was "And Then There Were Three".
"Trick Of The Tail" has been on rotation in the vehicle CD player (it's a 2003) and even the lame-ass songs are pretty Good. "Lamb Lies Down" is pretty slick as well.
There's already Genesis cover bands that fill a similar role ('Musical Box' maybe ?) to DSO and JRAD, so if the old dudes attempt a reunion tour, it will be interesting to see if they go for power-pop or Classic Genesis era.

The Steve Hackett "Genesis
The Steve Hackett "Genesis Revisted" show I saw (tour before last) was excellent. I was really impressed with his chops.

This lineup will fill sheds everywhere. Genesis has an amazingly deep catalogue and wont hesitate to use it, with or without Gabriel and Hackett. Ill take a lawn seat at Shoreline and enjoy to no end.

If these old Humps show up at
If these old Humps show up at the Camden shed, I'll try and take the $3.50 round-trip Train there. I bought the ***kin' 199 dollar Lawn Pass for Camden BBT shed and, let's have another Picnic
So far we've got Lumineers, James Taylor + Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffet, Santana, Chicago, some punk rock acts.
Couple Country-Rock acts:: Chris Stapleton and ?Rhett?
Basically, since I'm subscribed to Old Phart on Lawn pass, I'll go to every show where it's not raining too much.
